Mueller isn't looking for heroes, he's looking for rational self-interest and he's found it in Cohen. I don't think people are going to be applauding Cohen for trying to save his own skin, it should be obvious to anyone what is happening here, but I've been wrong before when it comes to overestimating people.

So, y'all remember McGahn, right? Current White House counsel working with Mueller, formerly Trump's campaign finance lawyer? You know, the one you'd ask "hey, can I pay a porn star $130,000 from the campaign, or does it have to be through a sheLLC so I can deny it for 14 months?"
Well, McGahn didn't know about the hush money payments. Not until everyone else did, at least. This would be evidence Trump concealed the payments, which in turn, is evidence of concealing a crime.
As a reminder: you can't contribute money, or items of value (such as hacked emails), to an election and not declare it. This includes intentionally intervening in an election, from buying ads, to hosting a fund raiser, to paying off multiple porn stars with whom the candidate cheated on his pregnant wife. Cohen admitted he did this, with Trump's money, with Trump's blessing, at Trump's instruction. He admitted he knew it was illegal when he did it.
McGahn might need to recuse himself, or step down, if he's about to be a witness. But don't worry, there's another White House counsel making the rounds.
Nixon's.
“It’s a big day, it’s a bad day,” said John Dean, former White House counsel for Richard Nixon, on the implications of Cohen’s plea on Trump and his presidency. “I think we’ve established today that we have a criminal president, and that is historic.”
I think it's safe to say he's experienced on the matter.

So here's a Trump tweet that slipped through the cracks.
Um...they didn't find him "not guilty", asshole. Just because there wasn't consensus YET doesn't mean he's off the hook. In fact, the only reason there isn't an immediate do-over, is because Manafort is going to his next trial.A large number of counts, ten, could not even be decided in the Paul Manafort case. Witch Hunt!
But, yeah, this is what Team Trump is reduced to. Truth isn't truth. Don't believe what you see and hear. Hung jury means witch hunt.

There are two choices you can apply to someone who reads such a blatantly false Trump tweet, such as "Cohen plead guilty to two counts that aren't crimes", and rolls with it.
A) They are non-sentient.
B) They are acting.
Option A means they are not part of reality, and you can safely ignore them.
Option B means they are trolling, fully aware they made a horrible mistake, but not willing to admit it.
I mean, neither trait is redeeming. And neither trait is a reason to respond. They're either non-sentient (and incapable of human interaction) or trolling (and undeserving of human interaction). Ignore them, accept you're the better person, and get on with your life.

Not even sure this needs to be here, but:
Our Ruling
Giuliani said the Trump campaign "didn’t know" that Natalia Veselnitskaya "was a representative of the Russian government" or even Russian.
Emails between Trump Jr., and his father’s business associate — emails that the younger Trump himself published — directly contradict Giuliani’s assertion.
Those emails show Trump senior’s business associate Rob Goldstone telling the younger Trump that a "Russian government attorney" would be willing to meet with Trump Jr. to supply the campaign with incriminating evidence against Clinton.
The younger Trump replied: "If it’s what you say I love it" — and several days later, the meeting took place.
We rate this Pants on Fire!

So, how about that interview with Steve Bannon last week?
- - - Updated - - -Former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon said that it would be concerning if President Trump had previous knowledge about a 2016 Trump Tower meeting between campaign officials and a Russian lawyer.
Bannon initially told MSNBC’s Ari Melber on Friday that he didn’t believe that Trump had engaged in “treasonous behavior” because it “hasn’t been proven that he knew anything about it.”
Melber then noted that Bannon has previously said that “there’s zero chance” that Donald Trump Jr. didn’t tell the president about the meeting.
“If a candidate knows about that in advance, then are they a part of treasonous behavior by your standard?” the MSNBC host asked.
“I think you have to call into question,” Bannon replied. “If somebody is actually out there trying to get information from foreign parties, you have to question it, yeah.”
“So if Mueller could prove that about Donald Trump, that would concern you,” Melber said.
“It would definitely concern me, yes,” Bannon said. “But the president has been pretty adamant that he didn’t know it and hasn’t known about it.”
CNN reported last month that Trump's former longtime personal attorney Michael Cohen is prepared to tell special counsel Robert Mueller that Trump had approved the Trump Tower meeting.
The former White House chief strategist came under fire from the Trump administration last year after it was revealed that he called the meeting between Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer “treasonous.”
“The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor — with no lawyers. They didn’t have any lawyers,” Bannon told “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” author Michael Wolff.
“Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad shit, and I happen to think it’s all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately," Bannon said in the book.
The president responded by claiming that Bannon had “lost his mind."
Bannon later said that his comments were in reference to former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort, not Trump Jr.
Except the MMO-C forums don't get a vote. The American posters do. Also, bots don't vote.
What we're trying to do is have a rational discussion, and Trump's rabid fanbase directly conflicts with that attempt. Ignore them. They're too far gone. Accept you're the better person and get on with your life.
New York has officially pulled the trigger
Cohen has been subpoenaed as apart of their investigation into the Trump Foundation for charity fraud campaign finance violations, and even possible money laundering.
The New York AG has hinted that this was coming and now Cohen is the first to be subpoenaed, so they're now moving in with their own charges. And these are state level crimes meaning Trump has no authority to pardon anyone who gets tried, including his own kids who were involved.
