Personally I think the sets continue to get worse and worse for most classes. Throw on top of that 5 different color variations of the same ugly set and nobody wants to use it.

It's Blizzard logic. Don't get me wrong, i agree with you.

Just because it looks like it to you, doesn't mean the lore of the game agrees with you. Unfortunately for your 'opinion', the lore of the game proves otherwise, meaning that my 'opinion' is right, and yours is wrong.

I partly agree with the ideal of Not haveing to do ANOTHER X class set, but the new raid sets are just boring. I thought that we would get 2 new good leather sets(rogue, druid, DH, monk) But now we got 1 boring ass Plain super basic one.

So yea, i had hoped in the best but now. it just lazyness. Instedt of 4 sets, they can make 1,and instedt of the afford in maeking 1 setbonus per spec, they just make some basic fucking azerite traits.

  5. #65
lazy and balance, its not easy make sets for every spec, have them be balanced and both add in something new while not changing the "spec flavor" at the same time. While the one armor type per type is simply lazy.

These have to be the dullest sets I've seen from them in a decade.

I can't express just how much I agree with you. There had better be a compelling reason behind it.

    I really don't mind zone/raid/enemy themed sets.

The issue with these Uldir "Titan" sets is that they are dull and phoned in. We've seen Titan stuff look interesting before, and we've seen loads of interesting Titan NPC and enemy armour with nice gold & red or gold, white & blue motifs. Not sure why they went with these monotone colour brown/grey sets, then. Also, half the raid's "theme" is G'huun related so some of the sets could've been more corruption based and others Titan based to break up the uniformity of them. The plate in particular is really bad, being just shades of one colour.

    TL;DR these sets fuckin' ugly.

i've been wondering why they keep with class specific sets... when they just make those same appearances available to the armor category via non-tier drops.

I could have the 22nd tier of what Blizzard feels like represents a class, or one tier that's meant to look like it's from some Titan raid.
Nevermind whether you like the look of it or not - taste is taste - but I much prefer that effort at least once before going back to reinventing my class look yet again.

    Instead we got this:
Isn't that NH's armor? Is that really considered "Launch Tier?" lol

No but for real does anyone actually like these sets? I'm on board with ditching class sets for raid sets if that's what they want to do, I've got BRF on my warlock so I don't really need anything else. My problem is that these look like dungeon sets, or the Chromie one. They just aren't very good sets. They're lacking any kind of flair.

Idk why they didnt just keep making class specific tier sets but like without the set bonuses

I get the feeling they are running out of ideas. So they are looking for solutions that allow them to conserve them. Or they don't want to come up with new ideas and they are just lazy. Maybe it falls somewhere in the middle. Who really knows outside of they wanted to just make an armor set that just fits with the raid instead of the class and that's it. I guess it could just be that simple but I still get the feeling one or the other two options if not both helped them reach that decision.

God damn lazy blizzard and their laziness!

Blizzard is the one deciding what the lore actually is. Granted if they started putting unicorns on the titan gear ya I'd certainly question it...but these gear sets aren't out of the ordinary.

I guess it would help if you pointed out what specific lore piece disagrees with the look of the sets? I'm not versed hugely in the lore so I am unfamiliar.

Right. They did answer this question already. I don't know why people don't watch the Q&A's so they can provide feedback more useful than /cry.

So, couple of things. Set bonuses made raids mandatory for end game content. With the sucess of Mythic+ they wanted to make it a parallel end-game content type. Thus set bonuses went off.
The team was tired of designing armor sets based on class fantasy (they did 20+ of those), so they want to design new stuff based on the theme of the raid instance.

So, no bonuses and no class fantasy, just armor type. This allowed them to design more gear sets for Warfronts and i guess allied races.

    It's no lazyness, it's a design decision.

Don't like it? Say how you would solve the problem while keeping the above factors in mind.

I am not talking about item set bonuses but their appearance. I dont care if there is set bonus or not.
    That being said;

Excuse me but I do not get it. This is laziness.
    Only 4 types of armor.
And no we had non-raid item sets always. So it was raid sets plus dungeon plus questing sets. (talking about looks not their 2 set bonus etc)

But of course some of you gotta choke on blizzards cock. I played this game since start as well. never had a reaction as I had today seeing them on the front page. Those art Atrocity. I am honestly thinking rezan set and wooden tusk shoulder pad sets looks far better than this shit.

Well, the problem is, that Ion said, that there will be as much sets as before. That was a LIE, they reduced the amounts of sets by TWO THIRDS!! They went from 12 to 4. Really really lazy.

I totally agree, even the mog set from trial of valor is better

Because they've got 4 difficulties and think they spend too much time on all the gear sets so the rest of the gear outside ends up looking bland. They're trying to find a balance. Wouldn't mind more updated graphics/colors on old popular sets tbh. Set-pieces outside look just as good if not better than some of these items.
