And I am a soft atheist, but hardline agnostic. I don't think god exists because there is zero proof of such a being, and consequently rarely give it much thought. I don't believe in sin, nor guilt, nor shame. Those are all bullshit notions used to control people's behavior because of what are fundamental and perfectly natural impulses. And I sure as hell do not agree with any of those moronic Abrahamic faiths: christianity, judaism, or islam - all of which disagree and think of others as unbelievers, which I figure makes them all automatically wrong.

No it doesn't. Me living my life trying to appease everyone but myself was suffering. I've been a lot better off since I decided to stop worrying about other people. i'd rather be happy than unhappy, not sure where the confusion is there. Obviously (it should be obvious) I'm not saying I don't care about anyone but myself, what I'm saying is I stopped putting other peoples' bullshit higher on my priority list than my own mental state. Life is about balance and personal growth. Clearly screwing someone in a relationship is shit behavior. I don't even understand how that needed to be said quite frankly.

Did you really need it to be explained that betraying someone's trust and loyalty is bad? I grew up thinking this shit was common sense and yet there are people who genuinely do not understand these concepts and ask stupid questions like "Why is cheating on your wife bad?". Why did it take you years to understand that? That, to me, looks like a lack of empathy.

Because using another person (or each other) casually with something that's meant to be intimate lowers self respect, and open's the door to myriad other issues. Sex it great, just go there with mutual love and respect.
