I watched the entire game. Osaka was superior in every aspect and if you have watched a lot of tennis before, you will know that sometimes coaches, sometimes players do these kind of things to tryna take their opponents out of their game, by slowing it down; these dirty tricks are used when the opponent is on streak.

Serena wanted to win by all means but the japanese was superior this time. Psycho tricks didn't make it and to me that's the real Osaka's accomplishment, in a f***ing sport world full of this kind of shit.

She has a completly legitimate point. The sport is very sexist and a man wouldn't have been penalized like she was. She should have been mad. She been playing for how long and they still pull that bullshit. Its not just about her, its the way the treat female tennis players in general.

The reason 5 sets were removed for the slams is so they could fit an entire schedule with a bigger field in a 2 week rotation.

They already said the slams have no desire to create additional scheduling issues if women suddenly need 30-60minutes more per match.

You do realize how absurd it is to just look at Slams count without taking into consideration anything else ? A grand slam trophy has zero inherant value, it is a piece of metal. It is valuable because to earn it you have to be the best in the tournament, number 1.

What matters to be the Greatest of All time is who is the best. Because people from different eras cannot play each other, the best way to make an estimate is the number of slams. Even then it is flawed, the player could just be playing in a weak era, but it has some merit.

However, if you start comparing titles from two entirely different leagues and say they are the same thing, especially when one of the two leagues is objectively better at tennis (you are better if you win, no points for style) than the other, then the argument crumbles. You can say that Serena is the GOAT female tennis player, not the GOAT tennis player. To know who is better would either require some subjective analysis, or a direct confrontation (a match). They have this opportunity as they are both active pro players. Yet it will never happen, because everybody knows what the outcome would be and it would be humiliating for both parties involved.

If you mean that being GOAT doesn't mean to be the better player (again, the one who wins), then you will have to accept that some people disagree with your view.
