We saw it in Legion, when Wq rewards eclipsed most dungeons that weren't M+, the cry went up "so why run these other difficulties?" Because you like to. We're seeing it now with warfronts where people ask "why raid or do this other dungeon stuff?" Because you like to. If you don't like it, don't do it, vote with your feet, vote with your time, that's how you help them develop the game!
I have a feeling Blizzard is going to collect a *lot* of data relevant to future development of the game when they see how many "closet casuals" were only raiding because they felt they had to, that they were supposed to, and mostly because that was where the gear was. The more options you get the more you see where people's hearts truly lie! More than ever I think players need to "look inside themselves" and see... do you really get any use out of war mode? Warfronts? Islands? Dungeons? Raiding? Higher difficulties? Do what you actually enjoy and help change the game, that would be my advice to anyone and everyone!
Like, seriously, LFR (and so raiding in general) doesn't exist to me and mine now that warfronts are a thing! We're going to play accordingly and populate the data Blizzard collects accordingly, same with never activating war mode! What little data we can provide, we will, and I urge all players to do the same!
