Close to the truth? Here is the truth specifically. Germans like you are going to be paying extra in taxes to make up for the loss of British EU charity donations some of which will be going to pay for the Nigel Farage pension.

You seem happy about that, I am happy about it, Nigel is happy - we are all happy chappies. All winners in the no deal Brexit scenario.

Get ready to dig deep in your pockets eurochums. You think the EU is value for money then pay for it, the UK gravy train is gone.

    This European gets it.

I would say his view is quite typical of the euros I know and speak to daily, sense from a Romanian, so who in the EU will pick up the tab? Him? or will it be you Slanty?

£800 might be peanuts to you, but it is a lot of money to many hardworking people in the UK. What is wrong with such a Liberal policy of sharing the wealth, the Brexit dividend, than even Vince Cable would be proud.

Plus the announcement lets all the remainers know the exact benefits of a no deal Brexit. The equivalent of a new iphone free to every man and woman in the UK. Alternatively you could let Juncker piss it all up against the wall...

Bring on that sweet no deal Brexit I say. Who can argue against that?
£800 from the government to the individuals is socialism, not liberalism.
    Liberalism = free economy.
Socialism = government takes money in taxes (or pops it out of its ass devaluing the currency) and gives it to the individuals.

Should be fun to see how liberal or socialist Brexitia will be.

Ah, you are from London but I was referring to British people and well perhaps I should have been more specific (tho the further referencing of Vince Cable ought to have been the clue) and shortening Liberal Democrats to Liberal may have caused some confusion to foreigners. So apologies...

To clarify completely Liberals/Liberal Democrat supporters in the UK are the polar opposites to supporting a free market economy hence their total and absolute support for the EU. They are pretty much the only political party in the UK with this stance and as such barely scrape together 1 in 10 of the electorate such is the unpopularity of the EU and them here.

You also have to take it in the context of the EU fanatic I was replying to. Take a moderate in the middle like me then at one end you have EU extremists like Slant, at the other side of the scale you have Brexit people who seriously would wish us to blow up the channel tunnel in the endeavor to leave.

MoD could nuke Channel Tunnel if Brexit goes horribly wrong.

    https://metro.co.uk/2017/04/03/mods-...wrong-6550300/

Luckily moderates like me hold the popular centrist view and will ensure the anti democratic crazies at either end of the spectrum never get their way. Although I suppose that in the case, as reported today, of France shutting the tunnel one could ask what exactly is the point of it.

Eurostar trains may stop running in the event of a chaotic no-deal Brexit, the French minister for Europan affairs has warned.

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics...no-deal-brexit

I suppose if it is going to get nuked it's a good job the trains won't be running at the time.

Never heard anyone saying Liberal for Liberal Democrats, I hear Libdem a lot though. The only people using the word liberals in my entourage are people who read too much Trump-obsessed twitter accounts.

There is no liberal party in the UK, only socialists who arguably don't interfere with people's individual freedom (Labour) or socialists who do interfere (Tories), LibDem could somehow be considered liberal but as soon as they push any economic liberalism, they lose voters to Labour, and as soon as they push any individual liberalism, they lose voters to the Tories, stupid country.

And now, we'll have Brexit which will bring actual hindrances to freedom in the form of reduced trading and travelling opportunities towards Europe, in exchange for the hypothetical hope of future freedom towards the rest of the world, but I'm not holding my breath.

Well, if you were to take "normal Labour" as the left and the "Nuke the Chunnel!" lunatics as the right, Dribbles could possibly pass as a form of middle-ish sort of something I suppose. In a more common perspective he is of course riding the crazy-train to Valhalla, all shiny and chrome.

Oh he outed himself about 2 months ago of having true fascist outlook on life with pushing for war on one hand with the EU for not capitulating, limited rights on people from mixed ethnic backgrounds AND the whole "Women must remain in the kitchen." bit too.

If not for that he'd be funny. Especially the time before the vote he was lambasting the EU for not saving British steel, but 30 minutes later was praising the failure of British Steel when it was pointed out it was Cameron who blocked EU means to save British steel.

A British MP can't be expected to say sane things these days. So, another shit post.

The absolute worst situation ever is Greece and it really has nothing to do with the EU, they would have been in that situation regardless because the incompetence of their governments over the years.
And they didn't "go under", because the EU saved their pensions etc. by keeping their currency from becoming worthless.

If they had had control of their own currency, then yes, their normal citizens would have been out of luck.
Rich investors would have had a lot of opportunities to get richer, of course.

Mayor of London calls for a public vote on any deal.

I don't think he has the authority to make it happen, but the fact that someone of his level is asking for it, hopefully, carries some weight.

Read his entire OP ED here.

his authority is that of his office representing the Greater London area; London has a lot to lose with Brexit, most prominent its financial district.
HM Treasury is also not so fond of losing the "golden cashcow" London currently is, they better lend an ear to the mayor.

I guess it's no deal. May's plan breaks the founding pillars of EU which will never be allowed.

They'll wave it off as opposition fear mongering as they did with all experts, professors and what not reports on the outcome scenarios which are all negative.

And they'll continue to set sail to fail.

Nothing to do with Brexit, in case you hadn't noticed it hasn't happened yet. The EU are trying to ban diesel cars deliberately to hurt JLR to the advantage of German/French motor manufacturers.

Remember that next time you go to buy a car.

If she survives the two Conservative conferences (official and unofficial) in two weeks probably not until after March next year.

Much better to let May take the brunt of the public's disapproval, with how chaotic this is shaping up to be.
