Why does it matter, OP?
Why does it matter, OP?
Starting with tier 17 because that's when it went from 10 & 25-player versions to a single 20-player version:
Tier 17: 2 of top 20 were Alliance
Tier 18: 4 of top 20 were Alliance
Tier 19: 3 of top 20 were Alliance
Tier 20: 3 of top 20 were Alliance
Tier 21: 4 of top 20 were Alliance
Uldir (t22): 2 of top 20 are Alliance so far
In summary, I have to agree ... it's Warfronts. That hot hot 340 honorbound gear (with a chance to titanforge!) is clearly powering these top guilds.
its not true the Alliance was far more played during vanilla and many claimed it was unfaire to horde since shaman weren'ty as good healer as Paladin (I,m not saying ti was true but it was a popular complaint during vanilla).
Horde numbers started to beat those of alliance when TBC went live and the Blood Elf were introduced. So the Hord finaly had a pretty race to please those who anjoy playign pretty characters.
In fact Worgen has been given to the alliance since blizz tought it would be a more popular race then goblins so it was a try to balance the numbers. I mean how a wherewolf race could be less played then some goblin ?
But it turned out that many horde player whished the Hord had a gnome like race and not many players wanted to play a wolf that make backflip while casting spells so ti was a total failure.
Horde racials were better for PVE, still are
so thing is because of that the best of the best guilds play horde...
which then mean the best guilds who want to possibly some day play with the best of the best play horde
which means the better guilds who some day want to play with the best guilds play horde
so on so forth its same with specs
affliction does 5% more damage then demo
so the best of the best move to affliction, meaning it look like 10% as the best people have moved specs
so more people move and it looks 20
then 30
then 40.
so on so forth, even though the % is only 5, as more people move, more will follow
This. It has nothing to do with racials now (if anything Alliance has slightly better simming ones, not that it matters too much) but just inertia. There's no reason for top guilds to move back to Alliance, and no reason for the Mythic community to be split in two when everyone being in one faction eases recruitment by a ton.

Basically, this doesn't matter at all. There may be 6 people that come to this forum that's even a member in any of these guilds, and that's not even counting of they are part of the raid teams.
The portion of the population that this matter for is minute. Everyone else can play whatever faction they want and trog through raid content and maybe if they are on a good guild, they'll clear mythic a week before the next tier comes out.
Everyone already knows this, Horde has better racials.
340+ gear is completely irrelevant in regards to mythic progress, helps with alts though. 370 from warfront completion quest is the only concrete advantage the warfront gives to horde, but it could be argued that access to the warfront worldboss and the OP trinket it drops is more of an advantage once you start pushing into mythic.
It has been said already, but horde is dominating the mythic progression leaderboards because majority of the cutting edge scene resides on horde side, thus (m)any guilds and players looking to do cutting edge raiding congregate on the horde side making the scene even more horde heavy. It's a positive feedback loop.
It has nothing to do with Warfronts, that's for sure. Alliance has had a terrible high-end raiding presence forever.
There's also nothing wrong with this. If you can't do Mythic Raiding because you have to be a green guy instead of a human, then the problem is with you, not the game. You can't force people to be good.
I imagine that the Alliance is much more interested in RP, transmog and looking pretty. While the Horde is actually more interested in PvE. I very much doubt that racials will make much of a difference in a fight, like maybe a 0.05% advantage.
It's only really noticeable for the very top guilds, because the small advantage on the Horde side has lasted for a long time now. At the end of Legion 2/3 of Cutting Edge guilds were Horde. In total for all raiding guilds with mythic boss kills it's only about 60% of them being Horde.
Horde have been quite dominate for as long as I remember, I been playing since Vanilla and Horde have always been on top even back then. :P
Because Blizzard kisses their ass at every turn. Before I main changed to Alliance it was hard to realize the extent of it, but BfA reached critical mass with it.
Lore, gameplay, and in the past racials used to all be extremely Horde slanted, and as such mythic guilds moved to Horde and never had a reason to go back. Warfronts, while M+ was generally a more consistent way to grind gear, had ways to complete it extremely quickly with a group of players who are coordinated and I don't doubt for a second that some of the higher-end mythic guilds used this to farm the crap out of them when not running M+.
As a whole the faction system is a shitshow at this point. Alliance guilds have moved in droves to Horde because there's no real reason to play Alliance in PvE anymore. And then the blood elf racial kinda shot Alliance's PvP population in the ass, too. This expansion in particular has been slanted towards Horde massively (except capital cities, fuck that temple) and players have noticed.
Blizzard has taken no lengths to fix their either, so it will continue for as long as they do nothing about it.
