Azerite Trait Tuning September 17

As mentioned in the Reddit AMA last Friday, we’re working on balance tuning for Azerite Armor traits. We’re planning to make the following changes during this week’s maintenance period. Note that there are more changes already in the works; this is just a first pass, focused on bringing some of the biggest outliers up (or down) to more acceptable levels.

General

• Archive of the Titans: Primary stat bonus increased by 20%
• Laser Matrix: Damage reduced by 30%
• Thunderous Blast: Damage reduced by 35%

Death Knight (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator / PvP Talent Calculator)

• (Frost) Frozen Tempest: Damage increased by 100%

Druid (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator / PvP Talent Calculator)

• (Feral) Blood Mist: Damage increased by 125%

Hunter (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator / PvP Talent Calculator)

• (Beast Mastery) Feeding Frenzy: Damage increased by 400%
• (Marksmanship) Arcane Flurry: Duration increased to 10 seconds, damage reduced by 45%

Mage (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator / PvP Talent Calculator)

• (Arcane) Brain Storm: Duration increased to 30 seconds, Intellect bonus reduced by 75%
• (Fire) Firemind: Intellect bonus increased by 30%

Monk (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator / PvP Talent Calculator)

• (Windwalker) Iron Fists: Required targets reduced to 3
• (Windwalker) Swift Roundhouse: Damage bonus reduced by 55%

Rogue (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator / PvP Talent Calculator)

• (Assassination) Shrouded Suffocation: Damage bonus reduced by 40%

Shaman (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator / PvP Talent Calculator)

• (Elemental/Enhancement) Natural Harmony: Secondary stat bonuses increased by 40%

Warlock (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator / PvP Talent Calculator)

• (Affliction) Sudden Onset: Damage bonus reduced by 30%
• (Demonology) Demonic Meteor: Damage increased by 200%
• (Destruction) Flashpoint: Duration increased to 10 seconds, Haste bonus increased by 25%

Warrior (Forums / Skills / Talent Calculator / PvP Talent Calculator)

• (Fury) Simmering Rage: Damage increased by 35%

Wow. Shadow isn't even on the list, in-fact they're nerfing one of our only good (if generic) talents, Thunderous Blast. What a fucking joke.

More than likely no point until they get their rework.

Imagine having to wait till 8.1 to play your class because blizzard won't buff your spec. Shamans- *looks at thunderous blast nerfs* *sees no good buffs* . Nice game.

Nerfing the top tier talents instead of buffing the shit talents. Blizzard at it's finest.

Just as with previous 5% tuning, all of these were done in 15 minutes after Blizzard Balance Technician checked the bloodmallet.

its pretty much forcing people to use lfr gear but wait in order to even do that you need to get to 320 to even do so that means we gotta RNG just to get gear from WQ's and random heroic dungeons where we get the soon to be nerf'd azerite armor so yeah wtf blizzard.

Was looking forward to getting 3 garrote traits... now it's pointless. I guess we will just nerf everything so that nothing is appealing and you just have to be happy with what you get ! Hehe

The fact they have to tune things by 50%, 75%, 200% is a complete joke. Hilarious how off the mark they can be, did anyone initially balance these at all??

And this is how you keep losing subs... what a crap shoot of a game. The whole Azerite system has made BFA worse than WOD and that is saying a lot. This is pathetic on every level.

Yeah but gearing isn't hard. Warfronts, this weekly 370, mythic dungeons, world quests. Gearing is easier than ever. Just join a casual guild or make your own mythic dungeon group if you don't want to or can't get into pugs.

Why don't you still go for the garotte trait then? The idea is meant to make it balanced, not op. You still have choice.
