This isn't at all a reasonable example. It's only fair because you assume Person A and Person B are always the same people.
We are now at the great-grandchildren of Person A and Person B. Neither have ever interacted with eachother, or know the other exist. But when they get to the race, for some reason Person B gets a free headstart. This is unfair.
Or do you think it's fair that Harvard gave worse scores to asian-american students and better to african-american students based on ethnicity?
