Adam is the first man, the alpha
Adam is the first man, the alpha
this basically.
a man who can and does take charge if necessary but doesn't feel the need to always be in charge, someone who has no need to prove anything to anyone, someone who gets shit done becasue it needs to be done, not becasue they are expecting praise for it. honestly, IMO a good example of an alpha man is Dwayne Johnson. dude is very masculine, but he is also humble, is not afraid to laugh at himself, gets shit done, doesn't feel insecure about expressing emotion, but doesn't let it overpower him either, just all around chill dude that you would trust to have your back when shit goes south.
what alpha man is NOT is someone who feels the need to macho posture or rejects superficial things like I don't know.. styles of music, or clothing colors or "girly" hobbies, becasue they think its not manly to like them. if you think about whether something comes across as manly to other people before deciding whether you can do it or not? you are NOT an alpha man.
using alpha here as a societal rather then anthropological definition.

in the context of modern human society they simply do not exist nor have any reason to. as far as I care to describe an Alpha male it's someone who is a slave to the concept of hierarchies where they get to be the one on top any everyone else is beneath them. that worked in the cave man era but in today's world a leader who is diplomatic gets way further in life than simply "bossing" people around.
Someone who urinates on others to show dominance, right?
Easy:
It's the Chad versus Timothy argument.
Who can lead a group successfully and has a lot of selfknowlegde.
who is brave and have authority on himself and others
usually stronger, smarter and more successful than others
people follow him
he follow himself
people respect or fear him
like to dominate instead of getting dominated
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son!

i dont think that exists in humans...
I can read just fine, as can the other people that criticized the concept of "alpha male" as misplaced, misused, and incorrect. We just don't care that you want to limit the discussion to "what people though about the concept if it existed" because that question itself is invalid.
There is no such thing, we are not dogs lol
