BG's are like LFG for PvP - vanilla players don't want any form of LFG, shards etc.

Vanilla is everything from 1.0 up to 2.0. Vanilla had BG's and honour. Classic Wow will have BG's and honour.

And after that there was BGs and honor, Blizzard have already decided to start at 1.12 so I fail to see your point. If you want a 1.4 version of vanilla I'm sure there are illegal options for you out there.

Yes they are different...but "Vanilla WoW" is everything before Burning Crusade. It doesn't stop at 1.4.

They could. They aren't going to though. Classic WoW is based on 1.12. 1.12 had BG's and Honour. Classic WoW will have BG's and honour.

You do realize that the general private server community are entirely okay with starting at 1.12.
Sure, having a full patch cycle would be preferable, but that means that we wouldn't get the servers until probably 2021 or 2022 considering how different the coding is at a baselevel compared to the 2004 client.

The PVP Honor system was added into WoW on April 8 2005 in patch 1.4.0, the first battlegrounds Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley came out in June 7 2005 with patch1.5.0.. So they have been around pretty much since the birth of WoW..

So they are a part of vanilla WoW and as such wanting them removed would not make classic WoW classic..
