120 Ally v 200 Horde: Alliance Conquers Stormsong on Tich server after 19 hours!

Yep, it all happened yesterday when I started a 40 man raid titled:

Horde Humiliation Gang:Stormsong
Description: This is not for Call to Arms, this is an all night campaign to conquer Tichrondrius. For the Alliance! For Teldrassil! Death to the Banshee Queen!

We fought in caves, over bridges and on top of buildings when we were outnumbered.

We marched across the marshes and swam over oceans when we had the initiative.

We shut down the entire zone and made Horde ragequit Tichondruis shard four times in 14 hours.

We kited six 40-man raids (240+ players) with an 80 man raid (two 40 man alliance raids) in a giant circuit (ellipse) between Deadwash and Fort Daelyn (using our bouties to kite).

We crashed the server multiple times!

We taunted Horde in LFG on horde characters!

We used Horde based as Regroup points! (warfang lol)

Alliance players from around the world finally had hope for the first time in over a decade!

And I led these groups with five simple tools that Blizzard already gave us!

How to start, keep and maintain healthy raids and communication of this size as Alliance in patch 8.0?

Roll Night Elf Disc Priest.

You will need to be a healer...period. Groups with healers form faster. Groups listen to their healers in WPvP and stay with and protect their healers. In general, people respect healers, thus by being a healer, your raid will grow fast and people are more likely to follow your instructions. Now, which healer?

You will need Shadowmeld. Using Shadowmeld causes all enemy players to drop target and lose focus. Shadowmeld is your most important defensive cooldown in WPvP slugfests as a raid leader. This means you gotta be a Druid or Disc Priest

Mind Vision: This is very important in WPvP, is has unlimited range inside a zone. Use on friendly players scouting for you (rogues/ferals/etc), use on npcs and critters along entry/exit points and in enemy hubs. Use on enemy players (enemy raid leaders) to track their location (hop mind vision to nearby npc before raider leader purges your mind vision). This limits you to Priest! Which priest?

You need Pain Supression (works when stunned!), you need Dome of Light PvP Talents (DO NOT GET Luminous Barrier, use regular Power Word Barrier for a total of 70% damage reduction for 10 seconds, keeping yourself and friendly bounties alive with a RAID WALL is more important than some aoe absorption spam). So guess what, be a disc priest!

When attacked by 10+ players, use Pain Supression + Desperate Prayer + Battlemaster Trinket + Rapture and Spam shields. If attack on you continues, use your Barrier (70% damage reduction) and use fear bomb + shining force to get them away from you right before barrier expires.

If all else fails, and there's no other priest to Lifegrip (lea of faith) you away, pop your healthstone, archangel and spam radiance twice and try to shadomend yourself with Machosim talent.

Also, just shadowmeld out to force target drop if you know you're going to die.

Ok, so we've determined you need to be a Night Elf Disc Priest to raid lead on Tich shard when fighting 1:2 odds. So what's next?

Kick Toxic players immediately. Yes, no hesitation, no verbal warning, do drama. Just boot. This includes players trying to override your orders. For every moron/wanna-be-leader that will disrupt your group, there's at least TEN alliance players that will happily follow your instructions in LFG. Kick toxics.

Use Raid Warnings to communicate Strategic Info.

Use ReadyCheck to STOP the raid and FORCE their attention to your next raid warning command in EMERGENCIES. (do not overuse readycheck or you'll make people angry)

Use your Stopwatch. It's a built in UI tool from Blizzard. Click on your minimap clock in top right to access it. Make movements, take breaks and give commands using that stopwatch (Use all CD's and Timewarp in 30 seconds!)

Countdown the last 5-10 seconds via stopwatch.

Have no less than 8 healers in 40-man raid. Have mage table and lock rocks. Tell healers to rotate drinking in big fights.

Use terrain: Cliffs, bridges and caves, to throttle/choke larger numbers of horde.

Use Timewarp/Heroism + Damage CD's + AOE when horde is one giant clump.

Tell raid to focus fire your target (another reason to be a disc priest) if a stalemate arises.

Get volunteers (stealthies) to scout the perimeter and outskirts. Your Mind Vision can only watch one place at a time! Multiple pairs of eyes are better than one!

Make sure LFG says "THIS IS NOT FOR CALL TO ARMS QUEST"

Allow Horde to Reform every half hour to an hour. If you corpse camp them in every part of the zone they'll log off or hop shards --- even on Tich shard! It was fun at first to make horde ragequit on EVERY shard in the middle of the day, but it eventually got boring since we had no WPvP content and the raid practically disbanded...allowing HOrde to make a quick comback! Ironically, the best way to farm horde is to be respectful over the long-term and NOT corpse camp them.

When coordinating multiple 40 man raids on a shard, use General Chat and Local Defense for Global Commands, use private tell for other raid leaders for intra-communication for things you can't micromanage.

Finally. Do NOT let your raid wipe. Command your mages to keep portals open at all times for a hasty getaway. If your raid fully wipes, you will lose your bounties and your +15% hehealing buffs (assassin buff on healers) and 1/3 of your dps will quit raid. Therefore you have nothing to lose by teleporting to Boralus and flying back to zone to regroup.

Blizzard actually had to restart the zone at one point due to lack of server resources. LOL. We know Blizzard was watching!

One: It's Tichondruis server...all zones are Horde zones.

Two: Call to Arms is in Stormsong for this week. All horde WPvP'ers are stationed in Stormsong til next tuesday

Three: Even a 240 man raid (6 raids of 40) failed to take down 80 of us (we used terrain, no-leash infinite elite guards and giant kiting patterns with bounties to separate, confuse, overwhelm and throttle the horde).

Four: And actually, when horde ragequit the shard, we went to their Capitol in Zulzadar and held it for 15-20 minutes. Helluva feat on Tich shard.

At the time of this photo there was two alliance raids of 35+ and one alliance raid of about 15; according to LFG and horde chat from horde spies, there was no less than 5 full 40 man groups in this shot, including over 10+ horde players with bounties

Holding the entrance to the cave felt like 300 Spartans lolol. That was 25 alliance vs 60ish horde.
