    That's 4 incidents in 30 years

I'm pretty sure comedians like Ari Shaffir would knock that out in a month
Those are the big ones. And moving goal post are we.

You where talking about why the left is dropping her/going after her. This was my response.

Yes she might not be well. But as pointed out, it does not excuse her behavoir. And the amount of times she does it does not matter. 3 times in 1 week and then for 30 years long nothing ( or ever again). Think like a situation like james gunn who said the same amount ( or more even) of crazy shit like her. But he has changed.
She keeps doing it, that is why they do not forgive her.

Secondly. as someone who has crazy/not so stable relatives , works with people with mental problems. I can honestly say that some of her behavoirs is indeed indicative of a mental problem. But some of it, clearly is just her being herself.
But without knowing her full medical background neither you or me ( as a proffesional) can say if what she is saying is madness, her being a racist or anything else.

So now we come back to your point. Why does the left drop her. Simple: She has shown that she keeps saying stuff like this. And her weird behavoir is ( for the last 3 times so far) always been about cultural, race etc stuff. If she was really that mad you would expect other weird behavoir like walking naked, self harm, alien abduction talk etc etc. Not just racist stuff.

And what a other "comedian" does, does not matter. We are talking about Ms barr. You naming this is not a excuse. I did it , because he did it.
As for him not being punhised if he does that shit ( do not know him). he should be called out for it. And on top of that, it depends if he ( or ms barr) says it as a joke, or a opinion/statement.

I mean, who cares whether she is or not? In my opinion, calling someone an ape is racist and she should know that. Even if it wasn't racist, we shouldn't support people who acts like she does on public platforms (no matter their political views). Also I never liked Roseanne, she's mean and rude. And I assumed she was a liberal until she indicated otherwise recently.

She just happened to be on VICE News last night. She admitted she has always had mental issues and as far as the Tweet, she was: "impaired and stupid and wrong."
    She apologized.

Not sure why we keep analyzing this.

The only indication you gave is "specific history of the slur" which again, doesn't say you understand the connotation, only that you know it is a slur because it was used in the past, bro.
I don't even know what you are on about. You brought up points that were already in my post, as a counter to my post. You didn't read it. You responded to the first sentence, and deleted the rest in your quote. Seems sort of strange to me, and I still don't know what your point even is. But your comments are noted, thanks.

Probably because she goes through a cycle of denial, apology, excuse, apology, denial, apology, and so forth

I don't doubt it. She seemed kind of mentally vacant in that particular interview.

comparing a white person to an ape is not racist
comparing a black person to an ape is racist

Roseanne insulted a woman who she thought was white... turns out she's black. so thats.. super racist?
Or as Jimmy car would put it "Razy lacisme?"

Honestly when you look at the pic of the person she insulted, yer not thinking MLK but more hey look a knockoff version of Betty white.

Also one slipup should validate the entire dissolvement of a persons career.

After all accidental racisme is every bit as bad as drugged rape.

No wonder an orange uran utan reality tv star got voted into the white house.
Thankfuck the SJW bullshit that gets carried over from the US is mostly mocked here in europe.

Because people think comedians are important in 2018? Sorry Bill Maher but I had to do it. :P

That logic is patently fallacious. First, how it was used in the past is only relevant if the context used today is the same. Second, context is determined at the time of the occurrence and only by those involved. Not years later and certainly not by randomly people who weren't there.

Yes. Context matters. Calling black people apes is racist. Calling a black person an ape because they're black is racist. Saying someone looks like an ape, regardless of their race, is not. Again, racism requires that the subject of the discrimination to be race. If it's not, it's not racism. Period.

Like I said...the guy was questioning why referring to black people as apes is racist while referring to white people as apes is not. Not just in the specific example of what Roseanne said...but in general.

Comedians have leeway with social commentary but she crossed the line. She apologized and everyone should move on.

    True.

But this is Roseanne we are talking about and she always conjures up an excuse for her behavior.

I don't think anyone that apologizes for anything is entitled to blatantly being forgiven for their actions or have those actions forgotten. That's for each individual to consider, including whoever cuts her paychecks.

Bill has a pretty big ego on him too. I like the guy but when he interrupts his guests non-stop, it drives me nuts.

Yes, when her decision making and counsel has let to war and destruction and the deaths of thousands, then yes, she is a piece of shit. I don't know why anyone could possibly defend or support her for that. She's just a puppet for the military industrial complex and is that what we really want to continue with?

Trump has stopped how many wars now?
    0.
How much has he decreased spending on the military industrial complex?
Oh yea he's increased it to record levels because he has family in the business.

Your stance has zero logic to it, Do you think Hillary will be playing PR person for the Saudi's? how about Helsinki? Yes I don't like Hillary but to think Trump is somehow better after the giant pile of shit he has dumped on the American people these last two years is pure insanity.

Doesn't matter. This isn't the first fucking racist thing she has said. You are defending her like it is.

This isn't the first time she has done it. Can't really move on from a racist that keeps saying fucking racist things.

You mean like Trump helping Saudi Arabia commit atrocities in Yemen?

I think it is a sign of the times where comedians are frustrated that they are not taken seriously anymore.
