Rumor: N64 Classic to be announced after Nov. 1st Smash Direct

Looks like we'll know in around 7 hours from now (the Direct is in just over 6 and a half hours from now and is 40 minutes).

Also, if Banjo-Kazooie are announced for Smash then I fully expect most non-Nintendo Rare games to be there. The only exception is Goldeneye, it'll likely be easier to get Perfect Dark as a shooter than dealing with the James Bond franchise.

The N64 does not have the giant library the SNES had, but I can reassure you, the N64 had a lot of quality games. Even without the Rare games, there is plenty to go arround with.

That is what they are doing. You'd have to redesign the entire system and the formats they use since there likely isn't room on the assembly lines to make seperate consoles and sell them.

You are likely doing this when you buy games off a digital store anyways.

Also, for me at least, I have so many issues playing a N64 game on an emulator with a modern controller unless the emulator is built for a newer controller (such as with the Virtual Console) or I tweek the emulator greatly, and I'm too lazy for that.

Goldeneye will 100% not be on there.

As for any of the Rare games those are unlikely as well unless Nintendo cut some deal with Microsoft.

Gen 5 had so many licensing crap it will make it likely too hard to get some games on both the PS1 Classic and the N64 one.

I mean it's one way to get young kids to Play these old games.

My biggest issue is with the limited amount of games they release. I know why they can't, but they are able to release the entire library of games on less than 100 GB of storage.

Just irks me.

The largest n64 games are CBFD and RE2 on 64MB carts.

Most of the games where on 16MB carts with a few on 32s.

Storage space isn't really an issue for n64 roms like it is with the disc based systems onward.

I mean sd storage is dirt cheap rn. But I was talking about the Nintendo consoles nes, snes, n64 no reason other than licensing that they can't put all the consoles' catalogs.

Also nitpicking. That's the maximum of the discs involved and at a rate of one disc per game. Some were multiple discs. And that's not using any more modern form of compression

You can scratch Pokemon Stadium- unless they include some kind of Transfer Pak emulation via the 3DS the game won't be included. Stadium is (barely) playable but still crippled without the ability to actually use GB Pokemon.

You can get a sweet N64 USB controller on amazon. Or even a N64 to USB adapter.

Those games are really bad.

Add Rogue Sqaudron, Episode 1 Racer and Rayman 2 as they are really good!

The port wasn't as good as the Arcade version, but it's a very classic title that will likely be included just for that reason.
