I hope someone does us a favor and nails Trouba for what he did to Matthews. Fuck the refs for not calling that either, they've been outright garbage this year.
In what kind of candyass league would that hit be a penalty?

In no way is that ever a fucking penalty, let alone a suspension. Leafs fans are delusional.
those refs are so bad, they should call a penalty every time one of my guys gets hit, and waive off every goal the other team scores

Yeah that was in no way a dirty hit at all.
If that's a dirty hit we might as well just fold up the NHL and find something else to watch because every player will be suspended. Just because a star player gets hurt doesn't mean it's a dirty hit.
I hadn't seen it til now, I thought it was a dangerous hit on the boards or a high hit in the neutral zone or something. That's just a good old get out of the front of the net play.
Guys.
I don't want to jinx it.
But I think the Sabres might be above average. Maybe even good.
We went to the semi-finals or the Finals in 2007, I forget which, right after the strike. And we were int he playoffs last in 2011 and made it to the 2nd round.
I don't remember that 2007 season, I was in law school and couldn't concentrate on anything else.
I don't disagree that Bert should have been thrown out of the league but Moore was a headhunter, as far as I am concerned he got what he deserved. The league should have stepped in from the beginning and dealt with it but league discipline has never been effective nor consistent.
Hey, our defense has been pretty good as of late! Helps when Freddie has been really good, but it's not like we are giving up 4+ goals a game.
And yes, the goaltending in Buffalo has been much better, I'll give you that. It's hard getting a legit #1 though, and developing one takes time.
I think Ullmark or Luukonen have a shot at being a #1 goalie. Hutton is obviously just a sort of bridge. I like Hutton inasmuch we didn't pay out the nose for him.
Interesting thing about the Sabres this year - they're sometimes outplayed, and still grinding out some wins. Beat the East leading Lightning 2-1 tonight and I think the Lightning outshot the Sabres in the 2nd something like 14-2.
Sabres off to their best start since '09. Have beaten the Wild, the Jets, and the Lightning in the past week.
Helps that teams are probably overlooking them as well.
Jarnkrok get his first hat trick of his career. Hopefully he stays hot, might offset Arvy being out 6-8 weeks.
