The biggest issue remains the experience change and the handholding for the team behind. In other MOBAs, the existence of gold means that if you limit yourself to your base and side of the map, you limit your available income to the creeps spawning constantly.
After the changes in HOTS, there is no reason to do anything if you are losing except freeze the wave(by killing the catapult) and look at the minions kill each other. This will
- punish the enemy team with significantly less exp(which will even itself in the long term, but short term it means them killing the fort did nothing.
- give you 2 globes per wave for quests
- increase your own ability to safe play while decreasing the enemy's.
- make the game incredibly boring and stalling until you get to level 20(each) where 1 teamfight wins all.
While right now the game can snowball hard(because when you are ahead you get more ahead unless you majorly fuck up), what will happen is that the early game will be completely invalidated. It was already easy to comeback i(f the enemy messed up), as you had shorter respawns and got more exp for mobs/kills, but the changes as they are will be next level boring. I mean, I cba clearing the neutrals, please kill them for me so they push down the lane instead(and give all the exp anyway). Its cool though, if you want we can fight under my towers/keeps, so they don't feel wasted.
