Sounds like one of those "conflicts" that they have in "plots" sometimes. /s

In all seriousness, that sub-plot helps set up the arch of the first two episodes, basically showing that Sabrina doesn't back down when cornered. It's a good metaphor about not blindly believing that an authority has your best interests at heart.

Supposingly he will start talking some. They didnt want it to be funny since this isnt a comedy. THis comes from the comicbook writer.

It's a black comedy i'd say. So it would fit if they did it right.

Not normally something I'm interested in (either Archie characters in general or the Riverdale spin on it), but the idea of a dark and gritty Sabrina enticed me enough to watch. It's actually pretty good.

Tempted to track down some of these comics now...

Which is a fairly realistic portrayal of young feminists in high school.

The cat is in it and sentient, but this is a dark and demonic twist on Sabrina so it's... well I recommend watching it to see.

The show could use more Salem though...

The show was fantastic imo, one of the best new shows of the year. It’s a CW show with higher production value, if you like CW shows, you’ll probably like it. If you love Riverdale, you’ll love this. If you don’t like Riverdale, why in the world are you trying to watch it’s spinoff?

It's an over the top situation divorced from reality that feeds into the victim complexes of SJW-types.

Funny that these "atheists" rely on a symbol and beliefs that ultimately refer back to Christianity.

That's the new polite way of saying that they'd rather not see the gays on their TV.

Quite the opposite, if anything.
Yeah, didn't the SJW character that everyone was whining about turn out to be an appalling rapist/person and not at all SJW character?

Shame, I actually liked that show.
Here is something to believe in!

Was considering trying this one out. Now?

    HARD pass.

Give it more tits and violence and I might reconsider

How is it divorced from reality? You don't think sexual harassment happens in high schools all the time?

Where the authority figures say "lol I'm not bothering with this"? No. In an age when a school enforcing its dress code suddenly becomes newsworthy and generates social media outrage mobs no principal is going to tell a student "tough cookies" when they try to report a sexual assault.

Seems little too on the nose then.

This has happened to me personally in a school and to several people I know. There's a problem, and the authority figure is mad at the victim for bringing it up. A common response for an authority is to want to ignore the problem or hope that it goes away. We're not really living in a different age with regard to that.

Yeap. And the jock dude who got accused and was supposedly the SJW agenda hating on masculinity turns out not only to be innocent but a hero in shining armor who sacrifices himself to save the girl. The supposed SJW was just a broken teen who used SWJ type logic to make himself look a better human being than he was. If anything it was a deep criticism on that kind of virtue signaling behavior.

For me it became a prime example of how people being "triggered" and being reactionary without a basis is a bad thing, from either extreme side.
The completely unwarranted negative feedback it originated (which at least on IMDB was the visible majority of negative reviews) probably had an impact in cancelling season 2 of what was a reasonably decent show.

As much as many people might not like it, the fact is that these type of people exist and are pervasive enough on our society that some shows are bound to represent that without necessarily having an agenda.

Complaining about having an SJW character in a modern show, just by itself, is as stupid as complaining about having an historical movie have male characters that don't treat female characters by today's standards.
