    World Questing Alternatives

Roles questing system: Roles are like permanent job your character will have in the world that are unclocked after completing quest
    in a zone.

Examples of roles you can unlock are: Patrolling a road, Spying (using a binocular at a vantage point to scout a zone to spot enemies
and events that are happening), courier (putting mail in mailboxes or delivering parcels to npcs), Placing landmines in enemy territories,
    Escorting npc's.

You can perform your role as many times as you want in a day. Performing your roles rewards gold, rep, and experience. To collect
your reward simply go to an Officer of your faction in your zone when ever you want to call it quits.

Interest system: Interest system is another passively active quest that fills up a "rep like" bar of progression which are called interest
and have it's own rewards system based on how deeply you've sinked yourself into an interest.

Examples of interest are: Killing undead, Killing old God minions, Killing specific classes, killing specific races, helping others (from
being killed by monsters or players), buffing players, collecting certain junk items, selling specific items to specific vendors, using emotes on people, etc.

Interest can be activated once you've had an experience with certain things in the world like being killed by a wolf unlocks wanting to
    exterminate wolves.

Rewards for interest progressions are titles and transmogs. Example, Title: Night elf ear collector ______, or transmog Wolf hunting transmog.

Personal quest system: Personal quest are quest like going on a pilgrimage to certain places without using a flying mount, going on a killing spree of a specific monster, scoring a hot streak in Darkmoon faire mini games, going to enemy cities and lasting for 15 minutes. Personal quest are activatable any time by you when ever you feel like starting your own quest. Rewards are gold and rep, possibly gear like world quest.

Stronger enemy Ai/ Level squish: I think that monsters should be given stronger ai varying on the monster in question. I levels should indicate weather you are capable of killing monsters using strategy. Once you've proven yourself capable of using certain strategy you will be given new talents and abilities so you can take on stronger monsters that using stronger ai and better strategy. Higher level monsters will have better Ai. But there will only be 50 levels and you can gain experience from monsters of any level. Though stronger monsters are more commonly found on higher zones, although there will a spread of varying monster levels through out all zones.

The level squish is also to decrease the gap from players so there can be more interactions from all players of all levels. The only difference will be a slight stat differences and the higher level player having more skills and strategy.

Note: You may meet players with the same interest or role as you are and you could develop bonds by teaming up with those other players. While also you can encounter players of the other faction doing their counterpart roles and interest, which can create more spontaneous events in the world which you might find more entertaining given the current state of the outside world.

Well, honestly..may not be very different, but I loved public quest in Warhammer Online or evolved concept in Guild Wars 2. I thought these world quest in wow will be similar. But..they are just daily quest showed on map..that's all.

Worse than dailies in that they're spread out and spawn constantly rather than once a day.

In what way would they be not too different, if I may ask?

They last 24 hours, so you can just do one round each day and get them all.

Most of this sounds really boring. Grinding a ton of the same mobs? We already have reps for masochists, thank you.

I like the overall concept, but I think you need to think bigger on the interests.

As others have said, grinding one kind of mob/race sounds super boring.
Here is something to believe in!

Ive played some very grindy games like Ragnarok online and grinding felt good, mostly its because its what you want to do. There's lots of grindy games and it can work because it interest the player. I mean if it was mandatory it would suck but I was thinking it might work because its just something to the side.

No, no it's not at all what I want to do.

If you like it, good for you.

I don't mind the occasional bit of grinding, like the current expansion reps, or completing transmog sets. But Running around killing hundreds of wolves or Night Elves, that sounds horrendous!

Still spread out way too much. They're dailies meant to keep you in the game longer.

Not for everyone. Some people do those insane in the membrane quest. Also in other games like pokemon for example, grinding is quite common. Also its similar to the new honor points system where you get a reward at every point in pursuing an interest, but youll only get the really big rewards very far off.
