Fresh Start on a "new" MMO this Summer - Preparing for Classic

So, like it or not, Classic is going to be a "fresh start" on a "new"...i mean old MMO
It doesnt even matter itss old.
    Because its a fresh start.

This is a new oportunity for you to enjoy a fresh start on a MMO.

What i mean is that this is a new oportunity to make new friends and enjoy a fresh start.

If you are already happy with the friends you already have then everything is fine.
But if you have no other people to enjoy a fresh start with, i recommend trying to find new friends to enjoy a new adventure.

What do you guys think? A new MMO, i mean old, A NEW ADVENTURE.

Try finding friends from your country...or at least your language to have fun on a fresh start.

    -------------

Well at least this are my objectives for Classic. What about you?

What are you going to do until Classic WoW?
Dont just wait, start preparing. Find a nice group of people to enjoy Classic with.
The bigger the group the better.

WARNING: This is a big adventure that takes a lot of time. Gathering new friends is always a hard task

If I don't run into a female troll rogue called Mistedshadow every few levels until we become friends it isn't the authentic experience.

Yeah i am excited for that, shame it wont be in the very early starting zones, but atleast we can play, but for all zones over level 10, i am super hyped to start meeting people and remebering them, even on the beta me and my friend met a guy named flash 3 days in a row all at different times, and did a few quests together.
    and thats with sharding

I'll prepare by figuring out how I should go about leveling. I'd like to quest and try to avoid goblin reps to make the grind back from Bloodsail Admiral easier.

My first character was a human paladin. I got the verigan's fist quest chain and had finally made it from stormwind to silverpine forest. That alone was an epic journey through unknown lands and dangers. But when I got to silverpine I realized I had to go into SFK to get the quest item. And I knew I was underleveled to do it alone. So, I kind of just walked up and down the road trying to decide what to do.

Eventually another alliance player showed up and asked if I needed help. I told him what I was trying to do and he offered to help me in SFK. Thankfully, the quest item was very close to the main entrance, so we didn't have to fight too much.

I got the quest item and thanked the player for his help. He asked if I wanted to join his guild. I didn't know much about guilds at the time and I felt appreciative of the players help, so I agreed to join. The guild would eventually fall apart, but I haven't forgotten the act of kindness from a random stranger.

I had a similar experience with a warlock quest that would send me to Blackfathom Depths. A level 60 pally showed me where it was and ran me through it. Then offered if I'd join his guild.

its not a fresh start because 99% of the population is going to know exactly what to do, how everything works and the most efficient way to do any and everything.

You know I'll be there mate!

I can not wait to ride the Classic train. I plan to gather some peeps beforehand too, but I will also be looking to make organic friendship in game with people I cross paths with.
Here is something to believe in!

One thing is for sure. It will be the best MMO release for me in over a decade. I have tried so many new MMOs and haven't stuck with a single one since WoW.

It's going to be fun for a bit but it will not be the same epic feeling as the first time. Not even remotely close.

Sorry.. That's not how the brain works. If you are expecting
The same experience as the first time you set foot in wow then you are in for a huge surprise. A bad one.

With that said. Can't wait to try it

Not really true, at least to the extent that you put it. For example I think many people out there will know that a priest is likely going to heal and that a warrior will be used for tanking, many people out there don't know about the fastest leveling routes for example, or BIS lists for the content that they are currently dealing with, or how to handle world pvp situations against specific classes, the fastest ways to clear certain dungeons, etc. You'd be surprised, even now there's guilds that struggle with even the first few bosses in MC for example.

I found GW2 to be one of the most anti-social MMORPG's around ... I think what you meant: you stopped enjoying MMO's when GW2 was released .. I hope .. haha.

But of course, find the adventure. The fun lies there, and thus we agree. /cheer

Not a joke - lots of us met friends we're still in contact with while playing in vanilla. The single server experience with slow levelling meant you were constantly seeing the same people, and often times when you found yourself doing the same things you would make a connection.

For instance, I met one guy I still talk to near daily when i joined the same guild as him. I worked weird hours at the time, so I quested solo in the mornings and would constantly run into one warrior doing the same stuff. I friended him, and months later found out it was actually the brother of the guy I quested with in the evenings xD

Small communities really make a difference in an MMO, as long as you're not an antisocial "gogogo" piece of garbage.

Nothing stops people from starting fresh/meeting new people on Retail WoW. People that think Classic WoW will suddenly become a social Paradise when they are Anti-Social on Retail are in for a rude awakening.

Hopefully this will be the only "fresh start" because if the private server crowd demands new realms on separate time lines every 6 months like they did for years, its not going to be something I care to play any more.

Ya, most people don't realize that it isn't the game it self that caused this, it was the time.
People in 2018 are very different than they were when this game first came out, and that is clearly shown in private server communities.

Instead, socializing now means spamming memes and vulgarity in general chats.

I hope, some how, that trend from private servers doesn't follow over, because its really quite ironic that I actually feel like i can be LESS social in Classic due to the player base than I can be in a game that contains LFR.

This is so true that it saddens me greatly. People blame the tools like lfg for lack of community, when really it is that those of us who experienced community in vanilla grew old while the younger crowd came in. The mindset of the newer generations of gamer is very different for the most part. No amount of small population servers is going to fix this which is why I say mega server to your hearts content and search for guilds that can foster that kind of community.

As for the only fresh start, I agree for the most part. We don't need seasons as long as they continue and push a tbc server experience in a couple years and so on.

I'd like to find new friends but thing is, I was 23 when wow started. Now I am a few weeks off being 37. I just can't connect with 20 year olds in this age, we are polar opposites. I'd hope to find an older guild of other vanilla players but people who like some bants.
Our vanilla guild was pretty... special. At least the huntard chat channel.

Though now days everyone wants to discord and talk on mic which I hate.

Don't worry, there will be pleanty of ol' farts (like myself) in Classic, but not many squeekers I believe, cos they are too busy playing Fortnite, or they will quit after few days/hours so I suggest leveling at least 2 weeks after hype starts or maybe even a month.

I know I will take my sweet time leveling, if I hit 60 by december that would be great.
From all things I've lost I miss my mind the most.
