I still just wish they would add a Heavy Armoured 2H dps Job. Still makes me infinitely sad that DRK, PAL and WAR are Tanks in FFXIV but were all my favourite Damage Jobs in FF Tactics.

That Rival Wings update though wasnt what I expected.... if theres specific rewards tied to it that are new then yeah it will gain popularity but right now its so damn dead cause its not part of pvp rotation and even need a community wide event just to gain any interest its that bad... 'member the reddit community crystal tower events
If its (non-solo) duty instance and not part of a roulette consider it dead just like Eureka in 5.0 (and diadem "2.0" that died in 4.0)

I mean in the sense of a Heavy armoured like the 3 I listed. Dragoon were always lighter armour Jobs in Tactics and use a spear and SAM is technically a 1h weapon held in 2.
Both hit fast and are all about agility. There is no real Heavy hitting DPS archetype.
Its like comparing a Ret pally to a Survival Hunter.

I never main a melee dps due to positionals of rear and flank.
its not engaging nor makes it complex... add on mob movement and server lag dictating if you actually hit the rear or flank + True North just shows positionals needs to go away
Anyone is capable of doing the "optimal" melee job rotation all cause its just a back n forth of rear and flank doesnt make it any harder/enganging... fuck it give physical range and spell caster positionals :P
Could be no actual feedback on successful positional attacks without really seeing big number difference (barely notice at times when focus on fight/surviving/party member positions/etc. than the numbers flying on screen) and/or "parses"

Well it's been a good run but after 3 years, I'm officially done. This fan fest was a snooze. The only class I've ever really wanted, blue mage, is turned into a shitty mini game instead. Nothing really new to breathe life into the boring grind fest the game devolved into. It might as well be a glorified dress up doll simulator and I can get that for free on newgrounds.
I genuinely hope those that stick it out enjoy the new expansion, but I just can't justify wasting money on the subscription anymore.
Sorry for the negative rant, I just needed to vent and the XIV reddit is garbage.
Ironically BLU turned out better than I feared it would when I saw "caps at 50" and "limited class."
I imagine a lot of FCs are going to organize BLU Runs of stuff since they can apparently do premade runs but just not roulette. And the sheer number of abilities makes me hopeful it's not going to be a "one month and it's done" kind of minigame.
Do wonder what this means for SOL and probably DNC. Are they going to be a tank and healer, or will one of them be a DPS and unbalance the tank-healer ratio for an expansion?
Also, Crystal is totally going to be known as the RP Data Center. Landed Mateus AND Balmung. And Goblin.

FFXIV - Maduin (Dynamis DC)
Content patch pattern isnt going to change... its mentioned by Yoshi-P in a somewhat summarized way of "it effectively lets them make content at the pace they're in"
Eureka didnt really turn out well to have a new zone after zone... in my opinion it would've been alright as one big zone with all those different elemental biomes and slap *insert zuzu meme here* in middle based on weather n such basically your diadem 2.0... more of keep player population stabilized without separating it further and further also it should've only been in the patch 4.5X to hold people over til expansion then dies in 5.0

Yet all melee jobs currently have it... I do play them but again I dont main one
Its just a back n forth of flank n rear that it gets boring... it all varies on the fight, server lag, and competence of your tank
If positionals were so highly respected as engaging... true north wouldnt be a cross skill for melee which is closest to having "standing still and less engaging"
Though I have joked before they should just add more positional types if thats so much engagement for players
Rear and flank is just too simple of player engagement of melee rotation that it gets bit boring or basically go brain dead and forget its a thing... it all comes down to the actual "unique" job mechanic to make it engaging
Proper positional hits dont give me the proper feedback is the problem I mentioned before... slapping in little more dps / job unique resources doesnt register for me cause rotation goes on auto pilot XD
Edit:Also will mention that doing the exact rotations more or less since 4.0 is having its toll and wont be til 5.0 for something "significant" for every job + the new jobs

I have said since i first did it that this should have been be the drk survival skill.
Essentially we summon a clone/copy of ourselves that takes half our health and if we die while active it restores our health by however much the clone has left.
Nice dos/survival skill imo
I wish the jobs would be made more unique, there's a lot of overlap. Dots, positionals and combo chains are used way too much imo. That's why I found the Red Mage to be the best addition to the game since it used a completely new and fun playstyle. I think they should focus a lot more on making every job play somewhat different from the others.
Eh BLU's kinda been ruined for me with that whole "limited job" crap. I want to be able to play it in dungeons be it random or with friends.
As for server regrouping. Seems Cerberus got the short end of the stick in Moogle and 2 very low pop servers.
Thats kind of every hand/land job though really. It feels like a side thing to do when bored and not requiring any expansions for it means everyone can play it and have some solo fun or play with friends and do some silly shit instead of eureka or something. God knows if they put it in roullette the 'you dont have ability X, gtfo' would occur because mmo players.
