what about stuff that isn't tease, but just flat out porn? Like lolis giving BJs uncensored. Still wrong to convict over that?

Prison sentences should be reserved for those who actually hurt others or their property in some way. The quiet consumption of anything that was not created by hurting others or their property really should not lead to any kind of prison sentence, imho. Especially when it involves something as diverse as anime. Too easy to abuse.

It's still thought crime. So yes, it's wrong.

As many people have said, yes it is wrong. It is not real so there is nothing illegal about, as it shouldn't.

Fictional characters in a fictional setting. No victim, no harm, no damages.

hentai is largely unsanctioned and doesn't come over legally. I'm referring to things that are indeed legally sold like these "visual novels" that have taken up residence on Steam among other things.

Also, one of the "faces" of modern anime that makes some of the biggest money and is one of the most popular brands is called "Monogatari," which has a pedophile as a protagonist and lots of satire concerning lolis and similar. It's not funny at all though.

Because they love watching anime too. I think the generation of the police officers nowadays grew up watching animes.

Because they have decided it is like that. I personally believe it is making thoughts illigal, which is something i see as safe. I am also talking about my own country and other countries who allow it, explaning why they do it.

Also, Russia have a tendency to ban alot of things and Canada can be a bit overexcentric when it comes to defending the weak, so i won't really see their laws change the mind of the world.

Aslong as he does not succeed, its just really black humor and that can be fun, like alot!
May the lore be great and the stories interesting. A game without a story, is a game without a soul. Value the lore and it will reward you with fun!

Don't let yourself be satisfied with what you expect and what you seem as obvious. Ask for something good, surprising and better. Your own standards ends up being other peoples standard.

Western publishers not importing animated hentai != illegal

I fail to see the problem in selling and buying legal goods

One question related to the topic here, since it seems like you saw that series: are these traits even portrayed as normal, good, something to aspire to? I know that the pervert main character is something that many anime use, but that is usually more of a flaw, something that sets them up to fail often, rather than some kind of heroic quality.

It's been a while since I saw the early anime adaptations and haven't seen the more recent ones nor read the original novels, but from what I recall most of the other characters look down on that particular trait of his, and whenever he gets touchy with the girl in question she usually responds by biting him in a way that would cause serious trauma to a normal human (he is not).

Ah, so it is one of those. That makes it even weirder to cite it as an example.

Thinking about it isn't a crime. Tossing her over my shoulder and dragging her back to my house, or to my car to kidnap her is a crime. Till then, though, it's only a thought, and no one is harmed. And that thought pops up in minds every day, and isn't acted on every day by thousands of people.
The rise of the thought police, criminalizing thought is a thing nowadays. Hence this thread.

Look, little man, If you want 'something done', then you want to get off of MMOC and go talk to your elected representatives (these are the people that can help you). Staying here on MMOC and repeating your 'anime is evil' mantra when we can look at your posting history and realize that you are an anime addict yourself will get you no support. At this point in a 35 page thread its time for a moderator to step in and reward you for your efforts.

Newsflash little boy, you aren't the arbiter of what is 'moral' you never will... your 12 years of fapping to anime will prevent you from becoming the thought police.

Yet you advocate for the same thing when you support the arrest and detention of people in order to check their sexual response to anime. Are you suggesting that you yourself aren't sane now? Inquiring minds want to know.

Which of these loli's are you upset about? It should also be noted that in Japan the Age of Consent in Japan is 13 years old, which is vastly different than America's 18 but not that far off from France's 15 and 14 in Italy. Not that it makes it right but again anime isn't alone when it comes to how little girls are depicted, and none of them are naked or having sex.

everything there, and nothing sexual is depicted because you cherrypicked.
