But it's PETA, the group that gives kids comics telling them not to trust their parents with their pets or else they will butcher them for their fur or because Hunting/Fishing, spreads gross misinformation about sheep shearing, runs the highest kill rate shelter(s) in the nation, and abducts pets from people's front porches/yards to euthanize. Giving them any kind of credit just seems kinda scummy.

I am absolutely willing to listen to a legal hearing from any non-human animal so they can speak openly about their oppression. If they are convincing enough, I'd also be willing to put protections in place for them. But no human is allowed to speak on their behalf.

I get the idea, but if this is an attempt to try to protect abuse of animals, we are nowhere near progressive enough anywhere to demand that the sensibilities of animals be spared.
