If Im looking at launch till this time period. IMO Legion was still worse than BFA right now. Legion got a lot better with the Mage Tower patch but it was really bad up until then. WoD till right now was better than BFA though.
Pretty much this. There is nothing more frustrating than hitting the two biggest ilvl sources that are "weekly" and either not getting loot or getting a fucking Azerite shard (both bonus rolls down the shitter this week) when you're trying to push a character quickly to join up with your buddies in ilvl-370-land.
It's almost as if not all people like the same thing. What you just described is better than BFA in my opinion. I'm not interested in tons of content that doesn't apply to me. Happy to not feel the need to do it. There was far less content, but the game systems were far better in WoD than BFA.
BFA, because no amount of changes within this expansion will make the classes play any better and the gearing system any less retarded. In other words, all the content in the world won't change that I don't like how I am experiencing it and how it's "rewarding" me. As such, the content is irrelevant.
Story-wise, though, they are both tied at number 1 for the worst expansions in the game.

I think asking a few months into BfA will affect the voting.
BfA promotes group play far better than WoD did, especially this early into the expansion.
No, WoD was definitely worse.
BfA is worse for me.
It feels like the whole expansion has been like, “Fuck, my bad,” with constant course corrections.
WoD was smooth the whole expansion. It was fun to play the classes.
BfA doesn’t feel fun to play. That is the most important difference. Warmode PvP fucked up the fun part because the GCDs has to happen for pvp to not be so drawn out... leaving pvers in the lurch with boring ass clunky play. No thanks.
Also make aoe talents baseline again, what the fuck blizzard.

Lol even with the rewards for islands and warfronts, I’m still not enthused. At all.
Easy choice. WoD my class was way more fun than Legion or BFA. WoD didn't have cancerous M+ and had the much better challenge modes. WoD had ML. WoD had tier. WoD had the old GCD. The only downfall of WoD was it lacked content. Which is better than having shit forced content and removal of game defining features.
Currently is the worst I have EVER felt about WoW. I still play to raid but there isn't any excitement or morale in the community.

90% of people who voted WoD worst never played WoD. The combat systems in wod were fun to play the only issue was the lack of content in BFA the combat system is clunky slow and just plain not fun.
WoD also didn't have anywhere near the gear casino that BFA does forcing you to do extra content in hopes of a titanforge and even once clearing mythic having to still pray for titanforges and sockets.
Also, every expansion really needs to be judged by what came before. It wouldn't be fair to compare, in a vacuum, Vanilla against Legion for example. WoD tried to do something really new to WoW with their garrison focus, and it didn't pan out, for which it gets a lot of deserved flak, but people also give it credit for its testing out of new systems (the "bonus objectives" added to questing areas was clearly a prototype for the world quest system, for instance), and people give Blizzard some credit for learning from various mistakes of WoD (Mission tables and "base of operations" type gameplay were greatly improved with Order Halls in Legion, based on feedback they got in WoD to Garrisons). Because WoD was so different from MoP, it gets somewhat reduced flak for its mistakes, since they were kind of "new" mistakes.
BFA suffers greatly from Legion being the preceding expansion, and absolutely deserves the flak it gets in this context. So much that was well done in Legion is done poorly by BFA and feels like a very direct step down. Azerite Gear tries to do the same job that Artifact Weapons and Legendaries did in Legion, and utterly fails. Gearing, and gearing decisions, suddenly feel annoying instead of epic.
One other thing to add is that Blizzard's love affair with RNG has been getting worse since WoD, and mistakes made in Legion (which aren't worse in BFA) simply look worse in BFA because there are fewer good things to weigh against it. For example, WoD was the last expansion to use the valor upgrade system for gear, which was a pretty central element to gameplay for both MoP and WoD, and I think pretty widely enjoyed. Legion abandoned that for RNG titanforging. I think that was a big mistake, but because Legion did so well in so many other areas of design, it didn't weigh Legion's impression down as much in people's minds. BFA is doing worse on nearly everything, and because of that, the mistakes it "inherited" from Legion - mistakes that BFA isn't responsible for originating but kept - just look worse.
Things like that combine with other areas of the game where very low-drop-rate RNG worship has become worse though. Island Expedition rewards, for example, are one of the sorriest, worst examples of RNG obsession Blizzard has ever put out. Paragon chests in Legion were the same way (and, look at that, they're bringing back Paragon chests next patch for BFA).
WoD is worse because it didn't have m+, the only reason any of my friends are still playing.
That said, BFA remains inferior to Legion in virtually every way. They removed lots of systems (including bad ones), but every new type of content they have added (islands, warfronts) range in quality from uninspired to terrible.
Haven't played WoD as current content, and I enjoy BfA to a moderate extent. Cataclysm is still the worst expansion for me out of those I played
neither, Legion was the worst xpac Blizzard has ever done.
I dont know. But BFA is the one I have played the least. Couldnt stretch it more than 2 months before I got sick of it. At least legion and pandaria I played about 6 months. I played 2/3 of wod too, Highmaul was quite crappy but got quite a bit of fun when I rerolled to tank for my raid and tanked all of BRF

I'd rather NOT have the Heart of Azeroth and this gearing progression that is just so tied to RNG it's not even fun anymore... so in some aspects, I prefer WoD than BfA. I do like the way Mistweavers play right now, in both of the valid ways to play it, which is a plus. But that's about it... And while the story of WoD sounds forced (alternate timelines and all), I just don't see the story of BfA being any better... it still seems forced, especially with Sylvannas' seemingly irrational choices that don't make sense even in the "preemptive" theories since the Alliance has, boringly, throughout recent history been largely Lawful Good.
Anyway, that's my rant.
From the perspective of content, WoD was worse.
-Once Crucible of Storms is out, BfA will have the same amount of raids as the entirety of WoD.
-I believe BfA already has more dungeons than WoD had - and one of WoD's dungeons was a revamp of Blackrock Spire (and a couple low level dungeons revamps as well). All of the BfA dungeons all have their own art assets as well. There will also be a new dungeon added with Mechagon.
-BfA has had Allied Races, and soon will have two Allied Races that are mostly new animations (Zandalari/Kul Tirans), as well as updates to the Worgen and Goblins. WoD only had model updates, and even then the Blood Elves were staggered to a later patch because they were behind schedule.
-With the coming patches, BfA will have more zones than the entirety of WoD. There are also no zones on Kul tiras and Zandalar that are simply unfinished and inaccessible in the middle of the continent, like Tanaan was.
3 hints to surviving MMO-C forums:
1.) If you have an opinion, someone will say that it is wrong
2.) If you have a source, there will be people who refuse to believe it
3.) If you use logic, it will be largely ignored
btw: Spires of Arak = Arakkoa.
WoD literally had 2 content patches with barely any content. Oh and twitter integration.
It's way too early to tell. We haven't even had the first content patch yet (which might be an issue in its own, but still).
Like many said, too early to tell. But to me? WoD is way worse. BfA has more content at start than WoD ever did in its whole life cycle.
Only thing WoD did right was Gladiator Stance...wich ...well..didnt lasted long.
