Just walking through the LEGO section with my kid makes me wish I had LEGO like that in my youth. The sets are getting pretty refined.

I can only imagine a Warcraft line would be very well put together, and aimed mainly for display purposes just as the Death Star, Mil Falcon or Destroyer from Star Wars.

I don't think a €600 Millennium Falcon is intended to be a kids toy. Well, not unless you're filthy rich anyway. With that in mind stuff like the front gates of Stormwind or Arthas Throne from ICC could actually be a pretty awesome display pieces. I'd say yes Blizz, do it!
There are too many Special pieces though, large pieces with only one purpose.

In the old days, the larger "pieces" would need to be made from smaller pieces.

I guess the end product looks better, with smooth and curved sides with those "special" pieces, but there really isn't much use for them outside the very specific structure you are intended to make.

I'd say Lego's in the past were more conducive to creating new ideas. A medium car in the past would contain 100+ lego pieces .. nowadays it might contain about 30, including the tires. Most of which are larger items to short-cut what the builder should be putting together - but alas, cannot.

There are simply more variant ideas to be had with more pieces (and less pre-formed specific use pieces).

Agreed, if I had to name one gripe with the current LEGOs it would be the specials.

Seems kinda dumb considering most of us are probably adults. The kids are off playing Fortnite. Don't know what kinda weirdo adult wants to play with blocks, but whatever. I never much found them fun as a kid either so maybe I'm not the target audience either way.

Are they even released yet? Can only find the Bastion one on the Gear Store, and another shop has the scene sets listed as "preorder".
Unless this is simply a later EU release, and you can't really call it a failure if it's not even released outside the US yet.
But your duty to Azeroth is not yet complete. More is demanded of you... a price the living cannot pay.
