Why do you buy a new operating system? Can't you install existing Windows to a new machine?

If you are spending this kind of money. And asking us opinions. I would personally just go buy something from Maingear Origin or Nzxt bld. The point I am making is the system will scream. But when you are spending just at a glance around 3-4k for a computer at that point I would say fuck it unless you like doing custom loops etc and just pay someone to build and support one for you.

I spent that much on a system because I like doing it. It's fun to play around with hardware.

I don't really know what you are gonna do with that i9 9900k if you only game?. It's a waste of money. A 9700k will get you all power you want for less money and the Asus z390 strix board is really not that good. They have used some semi good VRM's this time. Get the gigabyte z390 aorus master, msi meg z390 ace or asrock z390 taichi

Thanks again all! To the person who said this was a flex post- the point of the post was for more experienced people to tell me if I'm doing something stupid (e.g. SLI it appears). I wouldn't want to spend a relatively large amount on a sub-optimal configuration or waste money on things that aren't "needed".

Also, I live in the UK- so I won't be using a US system builder, particularly because I don't want to pay state sales tax AND VAT to import the machine. I'll probably build myself or I've been looking at pcspecialist.co.uk who have very positive reviews and barely charge above the cost of the parts. I would only choose a systems builder to avoid DoA parts, which happened to me during my last two builds (bad memory and bad MoBo). I'm not looking to do anything exotic.

You might want to invest in some repellent, I hear the jealousy bug is quite vicious this time of year.

    Quick changes to your build.
Change the PSU to a 650 Plat from Seasonic. You have very expensive parts in that build so would be sad to see it all go up in smoke. Or FOCUS PLUS Gold from Seasonic.
    Change the 3TB to a 2TB or a 4TB. The 3TB has a high failure rate.
Change the H100X to an NZXT Kraken X52 Rev 2 or X62 Rev 2. They are better.
Unless you plan on changing to 4k that GPU is overkill. An RTX 2080 would be more than enough.
The Gigabyte Aorus Motherboards are currently one of the best (if not the best) on the market.
And lastly, you don't need 32GB of RAM unless you are planning on heavy workload situations.

Add more fans, change case, watercool it, re-do cable management.

Or just run benchmarks and admire the numbers

Thanks! What is the benefit of Seasonic vs Corsair? More consistent power management?

The H100i is better than SOME air coolers. It's about on par or worse than the top-tier air coolers like DRP4 and NH-D15

Asus didn't even fix my board dude...I had rmaed it and they sent the shit back still boot looping and stuck on the yellow led and shit.

So I don't mess with them anymore...and Gigabyte's shit dies too. But they did fix one, one go around.

EVGA and MSI hands down...have worked with about 0 issue's and they ran for some time.

    - - - Updated - - -

the sound quit on the X470 when I stopped jumping just the board on the table...quit out of no where and was no sound through the USB header/Front audio either noise..I checked...something wrong with onboard...bought a superior card anyways...that SoundBlaster is a dope card.

    Interference/Static killed it or something...

Better warranty/customer support service, better power management and overall much higher quality of components.

A noctua cooler beat the Kraken x64 on Threadripper cooling, there's some really amazing air coolers out there.

I'm not jealous by any means, I'm happy with my build. It's just cringy and shows of a lack of self-confidence to make a post trying to flex but painting it as something else.
