I was talking about the achievment related ones, since that's what is discussed here.
Each one of them is a recolor, and this feels like being slapped in the face, after putting so much effort in collecting them.

Iam so close to 450 if i dont include my ally mounts but lets face it, its just gonna be another reskin if blizz does give us a 450 mount so if it happens it happens but i dont really care now.

Blizz will never create a unique mount for this and never will and a new reskin will just be another mount i will never use.

    At 300 I stopped caring.

Ghastly Charger is my favorite. GOAT mount for me.

Hmm... maybe next expansion. They just added the 350 one and 400 one this expansion. I know us collectors have reached the 400 limit, but it's usually good to have a goal that's in reach for those not quite there yet as well.

Well.. There is no achievement for 1050 or 1100 pets either...
    Fact (because I say so): TBC > Cata > Legion > ShaLa > MoP > DF > BfA > WoD = WotLK

450 is insane. Is this possible to obtain without tcg//store mounts

  8. #28
I don't even get the point of having such ridiculous number of mounts.
But I guess it works on some people, so hey.

A great resource I was pointed to is the Simple Armory. Go to Collectable => Mounts and it will show you how many mounts that character has, and how many are currently obtainable.

It seems that there are around ~480 attainable mounts at present. That number doesn't include mounts that you may have that are no longer obtainable (eg Black Proto-drake, limited time promotional mounts, PvP season winner mounts).

There are 13 shop mounts and 16 TCG mounts. So 450 is achievable by anyone, even without using the shop and TCG mounts or owning any no-longer-obtainables (although this would take some doing). Tbh though, for any serious mount collecter, there is no longer any excuse not to add those because they can effectively be bought with gold: via tokens->Blizzard balance for the shop mounts and directly from other players/auction house for the TCG mounts.

So basically its fine if you're willing to drop a cool 2000 hours into a grind or Wallet it up big time.

So basically you are against effort based rewards.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of people that crawl out of the wood work to shoot down achievements and rewards based on collecting pets/mounts.

The shop mounts are among the smallest time-effort mounts especially if you're smart about it and buy them when the shop runs a promotion (eg like over Christmas they sold all the shop mounts at 50% discount). I certainly find that making enough gold to buy a token requires a lot less time investement than killing a raid boss the ~50 odd times that are on average necessary to get those to drop. There are also a number of straight up vendor mounts that cost significantly more than what a token costs. So the complaint is IMO invalid.

The TCG mounts on the other hand are a hefty gold (or $$) investment, and should only be considered by serious mount collectors. Not that this is actually a genuine cause for complaint. Some mount in the collection should be rarer and require more effor to obtain than others.

Overall I have no qualms with either shop or TCG mounts. It's nice that you can spend $$ to buy them as an option. And while I can accept that people had a legitimate complaint when paying real $$ was the only way to obtain the shop mounts, the fact that they can now be bought with tokens invalidates that complaint.

Yeah I have 2 TCG mounts among my ~408 or so... both of which I bought from the AH for cheap (200k or so), the Feldrake and the Wooly Rhino.

Those are what I would consider to be insane deals, even if it was when 200k was a decent amount of gold.

Still they should stay ahead of this Achievement IMO, if for no other reason that it makes it much easier to track your current count.

got the wrong person here, i have over 400 mounts, i have like 950 unique level 25 pets, and near 29k achi points, and i quit 4 months ago.

but defending the 450 achi by only excluding store/TCG mounts but allowing things like the MoP world bosses in and other ultra rare mounts is silly, it's still a fair grind and an obtainable reward by having every vendor mount/rep mount/common dungeon mounts etc, and if that's not enough for 450 then it's stupid.

might as well start adding 500 AB wins 500 AV wins etc etc (i actually have most of those) but do i think it's a fair grind for most? not really.

most are fair but when you start including 1/2000 mounts thats just silly for an achi, they will add the 450 when they are ready and it's not only obtainable by putting in such a grind, i mean they could add a 500 mount achi right now, enjoy your achi date & re-skin model and next xpac it'll be common as shit so why hurry.

The Bee mount would be sweet if they added it as a mount achievement.

450 will definitely be a recolor.

I do wonder what they're saving the Bee mount for. The cynic in me (so.... 90% of me.....) says Cash Shop, post Dreadwake.

Do the cash shop mounts generally have recolors? From what I gather it is generally mounts that don't have multiple colors that become shop mounts.
