The fact that a person of colour could run now and actually have a chance is by itself an important milestone in US politics.

I like Kamala Harris, I still remember the republicans having to step in to defend Sessions when she was owning him.

But I'm also really worried about her. She is very mainstream democrat which means she is a corporatist. So I fear she doesn't have our best interests at heart. So I'm interested to see how she does, definitely one of the major front runners for the primary.

1) It has to be a woman.
2) She has to be all about being serious, articulate, intellectual and working hard.
3) Also Trump must continue on his current path of piling on the national debt.

Kamala Harris has confirmed on Jan. 21st on Good Morning America on ABC network that she is running for President of the United States. She is the first female senator of jamacaican, indian and black descent to run for office. She is the second female African American to run a campaign for President . Her announcement comes 47 years after the first, one of her two main heroes, announced her run.

When they talked about Kamala Harris slept her way up to the top, they were referring to the fact that she was dating Willie Brown (at the time the mayor of SF) when she first ran for DA. However, at the time Willie Brown, which was serving his second term as mayor, was highly unpopular. So whether the connection was advantageous to her campaign is questionable. In fact her opponents during the primary and general elections (which included the sitting DA at that time) used her relationship with Brown to try to discredit her qualifications.
