Anyone over Trump. I agree with AoC on healthcare, raising the minimum wage and a more progressive tax code. Sure she has some extreme positions but that doesn't matter, all that matters for a President is one that can make the case for your side. Congress writes laws not the President.

I'm also for anyone/ any law that will "own the cons". Like Cardi B for President! She was umm a stripper? i think, but can clearly make the case against Trump's dumb shut down. Good enough for me, bring it on. Repeal and replace the 2nd amendment, sure, why not! Tax payer funded abortion up to the birth. USA! USA! Getting rid of tax exemptions for religious institutions/businesses, YES PLEASE. Free mental health care for Trump voters, For the Greater Good!

Relevant given the topic and the endless stream of "FAKE NEWS" that conservative pundits and social media posters love to attribute to her as they continue to attack her.

You'd think she was at least someone with some kind of influence or power within the House or the DNC, not some freshman member of Congress who hasn't even been on the job for a month.
She also didn't say that it was immoral to be a billionaire.

    Here's The Hill:

    https://thehill.com/homenews/house/4...res-is-immoral

And here's what she actually said:

I do think that a system that allows billionaires to exist when there are parts of Alabama where people are still getting ringworm because they don’t have access to public health is wrong
It's clear she's actually arguing against rampant income inequality and an economic system that keeps the poor in squalor while further enriching billionaires.

But hey, it's AOC, she's brown and we're terrified of her so let's twist her words to make her say something she didn't. Context is hard and our readers are uneducated rubes.

Across the board there are no unique qualities needed to be in power in the current system, its obvious, so it seems to me you should just vote for the person who is least cunty.

AOC seems like a genuine decent human being in the current crop of the American political class, decency and empathy are the only fucking qualities you need and the most valuable ones to trot

The idea that she is radical is also a joke. Shes essentially a 'nicer capitalism' candidate. Not some marxist revolutionary.

The entire problem with the question in the OP is that it puts the entire political question to one of personalities and not classes.

The problem with the democrats is who the party actually serves. The democrats have no intention of challenging the real institutions of power in the usa, which are institutions of bourgeois state power. This is whether AoC was pres or not. They are still firmly committed to capitalism and to the preservation of US imperialism. They will never be a vehicle for socialism.

The US fundementally needs a militant trade-union movement that are willing to extract concessions and even pay the price of this in blood. The working class needs to project its own demands and to refuse to cooperate with the main democrat and republican hirelings.

In short Yes i'd vote for her as a kinder stop over of a system that fundementally needs to be shattered structually.
I mean, pretending she was eligible right now and running against Trump, there's no question I'd vote for her. I think she's actually trying to represent her constituents which is commendable. She's intelligent and, yes, I agree, she is not a radical. But I worry that her lack of experience means she won't know her way around a political world.

Sure, neither does Trump, but Trump's not exactly doing a bang up job now is he?

I'd just prefer she got her feet wet first in Congress. If she wants to go for it in 2024 (not sure if she's eligible yet?) or 2028, I'll be up for considering her.

Lol and why is that? You care more for "party" than actual merit of the individual?

Considering your post history, it surprises me that you voted Democrat at all.

Yeah. She is a likable fun person with a nice spirit about her. I like her.

Plus she is pretty funny on twitter and at least authentic. In a field of NPC politician bots, I know she's at least human.

Definitely not. Maybe with 20 years more experience. I don't care how likeable she is, and I'm not sure why some people think that's important.

I enjoy these posts because they follow the 4chan script to the letter. Implication of leftist who has been outraged out of the flock. It's formulaic rightwing propaganda.

On topic, maybe I'd vote for her in 10 to 15 years. She's too young, too inexperienced, and kind of Trumpish in her inability to just let things slide. Sometimes it works for her because she's actually in the right, sometimes it works for her because she's on her game... but sometimes she falls into the same Trump trap and makes herself look silly. But when she gets a bit more discipline, that spirit might make a pretty good leader.

But you know, I need someone I could have a beer with. Because that would ever happen. And because I trust the people I have beer with to make decisions that affect the entire country.

If AOC was literally walking on water, FOX News would say she wasn't fit to be a public servant because she couldn't swim. (And the farther-right would explain that only witches don't sink.)

I'm one of this forum uber far-right people and honestly, AOC is super likable and authentic.

I think it's the Ben Shapiro types that really have a fanatical hate boner for her.

Whatever gets us to reasonable healthcare that is not tied to insurance companies is who will be getting my vote. The next line would be addressing citizens united as that would fix most of the nations problems. She is fine and would be a pick of mine if she was old enough, no Beto types or Harris types who want to give a blowjob to the powerful.

    Damn straight.

Establishment Democrats will be all "But we need party unity!" but that just means it's a fight we'll never actually get to fight since Democrats will always need "party unity."

I like her policies but am undecided. If she doesn't fuck up in the House then she might end up being our first female President at 35.

  17. #77
In 6-7? years when she's eligible Probably would if continues the path.

  18. #78
I'd vote for her as my representative. Not for head of government. Not yet, anyway.

Between Her and Trump yes, but then I would vote for Ted Cruz over Trump so that isn't saying much.

Honestly she is making all the right moves. I don't agree with her nor am I a fan of her ideas, but she is for sure not fucking up yet. Rhetoric is one thing, policy and the way she handles her position are another.

She is going to learn how to get along, and that is going to be tough, not only on her but her base. Which is why I am not as sold on her. It's easy to tell people a lot of shit they want to hear, but a true leader has to be also able to tell people things they don't. They also have to develop a track record of credibility of standing behind their intentions either way.

She has a long way to go, but she has potential.

You know, it has to start with rhetoric and followed up by policy after that because up till now Democrats tried to compromise on policy and got nothing in return.
