Western men have very high expectations on responsibility on their shoulders.

It's typically the men who do the:
- physically heavy jobs (up to the point many have their bodies destroyed by the time they reach 50)
- the dangerous jobs
- expected to support their family, marriages where the woman earns more tend to fall apart: women have a strong tendency to cheat on low earning partners
- conscription, expected to defend their countries is also still mostly male (by law even in many nations)
- expected to support a child and family even if they are divorced or didn't want the child (In France men aren't even allowed to get proper paternity tests if it threatens the peace of the household)
- In western culture the agency on relationships is mostly in the hands of women: men are expected to meet female expectations, the opposite is considered 'chauvenistic'

Then sprinkle on top of that a culture that likes to hand out gifts and encouragement bonuses and programs to women, while men are lagging behind and it seems pretty obvious to me that women are very privileged.

All conditions men created and some are fighting to manipulate to maintain. So too are few women who are comfortable with zero agency. But not most.
