Except they literally stated they had record breaking profits, but great isn't great enough. Once again, reality doesn't mesh with the message they put out.

As expansions go, BfA has been "ok" for me. It's definitely better than WoD, but less engaging than Legion. I'm an alt-o-holic, and not having different stories for my characters is really a bit of a step back. Professions are much less interesting and the community has made finding pug mythics are garbage fire of FoTM and elitism. It's not a "failed" expac, regardless of what random internet commenter #14898374 says.

That's because Square so completely borked FFXIV that it was literally unsalvagable.

BFA is the filler expansion in between the next expansion that might actually be worthwhile. After wotlk we got cata, it wasn't really that impressive. Mop came after that and was bigger. Then we got Wod, more filler then expansion. Legion came and didn't seem like filler but had a good story. Plus artifact weapons and story was alot better. Which brings us to BFA, more filler garbage and experimentation than an actual expansion. Ignoring lots of feedback in beta from players that took the time testing things out. The filler expansions are in between the real expansions. One bad thing about filler expansions, is the wasted potential in the story/characters. BFA could have so much more but it doesn't really compare to legion and wotlk story.

    Unsalvagable?

It literally relaunched and is now arguably one of the best MMOs on the market lol. They pretty much salvaged it. And rebuilt player trust from scratch. Meanwhile over at WoW they continue to lose player faith and trust.

Actually hell with it. It's the best MMO on the modern market. Slightly above ESO.

They had the flat out decency to apologise and instead of abandoning the project try again. ActiBlizz have literally never flat out apologised for any major WoW issues other than the atypical "kthx for understanding and patience".

Yeah, actually I agree on this point.

What I want is for Ion to say, "I love RNG and think it is a great system but the millions of people who left disagree with me. Maybe I should admit I am god awful wrong and scale it back a little?" To be honest with you the playerbase is asking for some really minor stuff as atleast a carrot that someone at that company admit they screwed up bad.

Just using buzz words to describe this content in 8.2 is not going to fly. I mean come on when the best description people have of your expansion is a picture of a slot machine or calling it a glorified Beta you have problems.

People can literally point to the last expansion where content was delivered and people were kept somewhat happy then I have seen in years. How are we getting such in depth questions in Gamer magazine interviews but the ACTUAL dev Q&A's boil down to fluff.

Cataclysm was one of the most ambitious expansions they've released. So you can shut your filler expansion theory down right there.

BfA considerably scaled the RNG factor back. Azerite pieces can't proc, weapons can't titanforge. No more vendors selling 880 or 910 trinkets (oh, the joys of farming to have a 1/200 chance to get an arcanocrystal. Ask Gingi or Rogerbrown how much they farmed to get their procced convergence of fates and arcanocrystals). Oh, and remember the legendaries farming? Going to EN or NH every week to build bad luck protection? So interesting!

You may not like the WF/TF system, ok. You may not like BfA, or even hate it, ok. But it's blatantly wrong to consider that Blizzard is entitled. Do they fuck up sometimes? Yes, of course. Do they fuck often? Debatable but you could make a point for that. Do they take a lot of time to adjust in some cases? Sure. However they are willing to improve and the game is constantly evolving. I played Legion a lot, but I really prefer BfA. I feel rewarded for playing the game instead of garrison farming or grinding endlessly for a 1/200 chance. Hell, just look at the island expeditions which are considerably more rewarding now.

If you look at all the changes since BfA launch, it's night and day compared to august 2018.

Indeed, but they react considerably faster than in WoD.

    Can you prove WoD failed?

You're absolutely right about that and I definitely agree that XIV is the best mmo out right now. Yoshida actually admits to his mistakes and does a great job at giving the players what they want even when it doesn't always work out.

If they were acting like everything is fine they wouldn't completely change Azerite progression mid expansion.

You can piss and moan all you want about it being too late and you would be right it should have been done sooner, but if they didn't think anything is wrong with the current iteration of the system they wouldn't be trying to fix it.

They say that these are things they did wrong, but they are doing absolutely nothing to rectify these things. They arent learning and improving. They are "admitting" they messed up, saying they will do stuff, but really arent doing anything to fix it. They are holding course. Admitting you have a problem and fixing it are two totally different issues. Ion is basically a drug addict who knows he has an issue and instead of trying to get clean hes going to his dealer.

What the hell is this? How can you be that deliberately blind? You may not like the answers Blizzard gives to the BfA issues, but it's blatantly wrong to say that "they are doing absolutely nothing".

Dunno, each Q&A I watched they regret systems which didn't work out in the end. Seems quite clear to me they aren't happy with the current state of the game.

Largely in that Blizz actually started to act like that one was a failure during the expansion, but not until Legion was already announced. WoD is the only one were it was obvious due to Blizz's own actions that they had opted to scrap putting more development effort into WoD to ensure that Legion had more resources during development.

In terms of BfA, Blizz will similarly not concede any semblance of failure until after the 9.0 expansion is announced and attention can be shifted away from the current expansion to all the things they will implement. Why would they even? There is no chance that they acknowledge anything is wrong with the current product while we are still like 7 months out from them even teasing the new product.

Product is current and nothing announced on the horizon = Do not acknowledge current product is shit
New product is announced! = Can concede that certain elements of current product didn't meet expectations, insist they will be better in new product.

Outside of Classic forum communication is non existent, only info we have is directly from Ion with vague promises, 8.2 PTR is not up for a MAJORRRR game changing patch, Lore has been dead silent except insulting people on the forums, devs have been afraid to communicate bugs when reported/confirm them.

The list just keeps going. Every single thing I see Ion listing out was reported far prior to BFA even launching but how many had to quit and get fired before he decided to put his hubris aside and admit something is broken?

Nowhere in his interviews is he addressing the casino that is BFA right now and if anything has embraced it even further in dev Q&A's which are few and far between. Where in the hell are the class devs? People are beyond pissed right now about class design and the pruning but there is nothing. Who in the hell looks at prot warriors in MDI right now and does not thing that is just broken and crowding out other tanks that need buffs?

Guilds have been turned into glorified raid log communities as people are just disillusioned at what is going on right now. Where is the 8.2 hype on the PTR? Atleast then you could get people motivated to stay with the game and not just give up.
We can tell which youtube channels you listen to. You kinda just regurgitated the same shit the rest of us already heard. The game is fine. Love BFA. The only reason I'm unsubbed is because I work 6 10s and I'd rather spend my free time doing more important things. Just quit of shut the fuck up.
