They can do what DBG are doing with EQ progression servers: roll out new servers every once in a while, maybe experiment with content speed or apply some other special rules.
I'm glad you noticed this because this is exactly what I think they should do. I'm currently playing on Selos EQ progression server and it's actually a ton of fun.

Can you imagine how cool it would be to have a progression server that goes to wrath and then time locks in that era? Or having a progression server that goes from classic to current content over a year or two? It would add a new flavor to the game and allow you to continue to play the same game but in a different way. And I really don't see this detracting from live wow in any way.

I think DBG stated that about 1/3 of their total revenue comes from progression servers such as these so they could potentially inject a ton of money into wow again which would be good for everyone.

Troll much? You could not be more wrong and there is enough proof of that. But you got to do what you got to do ofc.

Wow reading the pvp honor grind I remember how hard it was to reach Champion rank and quitting at that point cause the grind was insane. Felt great as a Tauren War in full champ gear. But man certainly won't be trying that grind again Classic is not for me. Far too casual these days, spent my weekend grinding Luna's Howl on Destiny 2 and that felt a lot easier than Champ rank lool.

that is a lie, back on classic there was time gate, and stuff game behind enless grind.

Naxx was a example of time gate, and the same for Silithus event. Grind and time game exite on wow since vanilla. The only diference you can say is that the ending was bigger that some of time game now.
Ppl prize alot of the bullshit blizzard did on vanilla bc nostalgia. Helll ppl still prize the talent tree for some reason i will never undestand, saying that allow you to be unique, when anyone doing pvp or pve have the same build, just to be competitive.

ppl are all the time imagine scenarios. Or complain how terrible isnt not having fly on the new zone bc running to ever place take to long, vanilla zone are 10 bigger with 10 time less content and u spend alot of time running, hell i till rememeber how much i hate Blastland back then or Desolace.

I feel like depending on how long the phases are going to take to roll out, not having bg's at launch kind of sucks.

Vanilla didn't though to be fair.

    BGs weren't until 1.5

I guess just allowing World PvP at the start means they can stay true to the content release a bit and try and create that authentic experience of Tarren Mill v Southshore and getting ganked like mad in STV.

Yeah that makes sense I guess. I'm just really looking forward to old school bg's. Hopefully it doesn't take too long.

It's just my thoughts on what will happen - to be clear, I don't hold an active WoW subscription for a long time now and probably never will, had my fair share of 10 years on and off in this game already.
