I'd agree with this. I think I've actually posted almost exactly this a year or so ago: part of what made Hitler real was that he was not a supernaturally inconceivable monster that the right wing has turned him into in order to shut down all arguments that use Hitler as a reference as hyperbole. Hitler happened because he was a real guy who exploited real problems to come to and wield power. He didn't hypnotize anyone or wave magic wands; he was a guy just like any of us who pushed the right buttons to get where he was, and that shows the danger of what any person is able to achieve if given the right circumstances.

Which is why this normalization of Hitler is pretty vile. Owens basically ignored what we learned from Hitler and announced precisely what made him happen as "fine."

False Hitler's entire economic policy was based on expansion which led to war, Germany didn't have the resources for the manufacturing systems he built. It was far better for them to take over countries rather than pay to import. Also Owens stated that nationalists don't kill their own people when the basis of nationalism is to persecute minorities and portray them as the reason for all the problems.

When she says "The problem with Hitler was...." it implies, that, aside from the following aspect, the Rest appears to be OK. Either she is ignoring his entire interior politic, or downplays it. And after that, she made it worse, by descriping Hitler having a "globalist agenda" as being the bad part. Not the genocides, not the warcrimes. Not the desire to exterminate.
That he is a "globalist". Which in the sense, that is used by conservatives, he simply wasn't. At best he was a bloodthirsty, genocidal, brutal nationalistic imperialist.
