On Stormrage and stormreaver after it split off from stormrage It mattered. We had a few known ninja's that got blacklisted by the whole server and had to transfer off. A lot of us came from FFXI where it was even harsher with no server transfer or name change possible there to avoid the fallout.

It's almost like ... real life

Be a thieving obnoxious brat at your workplace or anywhere else and it will have negative consequences. Be nice, helpful and behave yourself and it'll have positive consequences.

This barely applies to WoW today ... but it certainly did during Vanilla and TBC. At least that was the case on my sever, which was a large one. Just ... play nice and your all good

Ninja looting in raids is only possible if your raid leader is a complete idiot so it's a non-issue.
mate nothing what you hope will happen.

you are speaking baout game which had for few years pugs of "LFM X , everything reserved"

and they had no problem finding people

this is something what people on forums are delusional about.

we are talking about 40 man raids geting next to nothing from raid bosses -_-

guild will be encouraging people to need on everything not disencouraging

if you will say loud " ye i got X,Y,Z of this suckers" the answear will be "good job "

idk on illidan in wrath people would ninja VOA boss 90% of the time, you had to make your own group or you would be screwed. The server was so populated, unless you were a popular well known player you had no reputation.

Idk how this will apply to vanilla though cause it's not as easy to build a 40man pug in 5minutes

Reserved loot =/= ninja looting. Reserving loot wasn't just accepted in Classic, it was the norm. Everyone that actually enjoys and wants to play Classic knows that.

Again, this is a non-issue for the committed Classic crowd.

Not to mention most specs have their own specific items they want to go for. If you reserve X, chances are that only a handful (at max) of other specs want it, compared to the 25%+ that would want a piece on live.

My point being that reserving a piece will result in those specs likely not joining you, but you still have tons of others who will be unaffected. Plus I'd be more trusting of a group who DOES reserve loot over ones that don't because they're bring upfront with what they're taking instead of not saying anything. Why reserve something and then ninja later?

Still wondering why I play this game.
I'm a Rogue and I also made a spreadsheet for the Order Hall that is updated for BfA.

Oh, reputation was a thing, they dont want to throw additional support to vanilla which is okay I guess (support items transfer).

Anyway, if you steal once, you steal twice, then you wont be invited at all. Reputation will work out.

Authentic Vanilla experience is what people wanted and Blizzard is doing their best to deliver as close as possible to it. Let the ninja looting drama begin on forums.

Do you even know what you're talking about? What items are those people going to need on if they're already in a raiding guild? Dungeon blues?

I would say the committed classic crowd isn't pugging in the first place. Much easier and faster to go premade and know exactly what you go for.

For every positive community story about Vanilla there's just as many if not more toxic stories.
In vanilla I really did see more of this happen than people who deserved it getting bad reps, too. It varies by server doubtlessly but on mine this was the majority. It reached a point on mine that "ninja" was something sarcastic people called each other in trade chat and it lost meaning and claims of "x person is a ninja looter!!" started being ignored or even mocked.

Cant wait for classic to be released, so they stop wasting so many resources on it.

Well thats how I remember it.
I remember a dude on my server ninja looted Kalimdors revenge and even after xferring and changing his name people would still find him and point it out even into tbc. Was pretty nuts!

  15. #35
No one should have a problem with this. As a former raid leader, guild leader, and dkp master accidents happen. 90% of my tickets from vanilla to now have been misloots or items that needed trading back in the day

This is a harmless addition that will improve QoL for raiders, while still allowing ninja looting to exist and server rep to matter

Actually, a player's reputation mattered a lot in Vanilla; there is a self-enforcing reason to behave reasonably. Stealing loot gives a player a bad name and no one likes to group with a thief.

Precisely. It’s a self policing system where once a few people claim you’re a bad seed; word will spread and person X can’t even say a word in general chat without being called out.

People’s behavior matters in classic, and if you don’t care, you’ll be stuck doing low end activity or solo play

This is a really shitty move by Blizzard. All it will do is punish people who don't know what they're doing. Your entire server will hate you and call you a ninja just because you didn't know any better, how are you supposed to learn from that? We need to be able to trade items we looted by mistake by opening tickets, anything else is unacceptable.
