Jaina going behind Varian’s back multiple times to protect the Horde in the days of Thrall before Garrosh, even leading to her father’s death. God, imagine how terrible of a leader Varian and Anduin have been to let these things happen.
All those times Anduin went behind his father’s back to consort with a black dragon; or even to talk with Baine, a known enemy.

No, Syl won’t die, and probably won’t even lose the rein of Warchief. She will have some redeeming moment that will justify her actions, such as some great evil made aware to her that was close to claiming the tree that would end Azeroth or something stupid. She will also probably be the one who seals N’zoth.
She will probably also retain Warchief mantle as the reminder of what will happen to the Alliance if they break some treaty made at the end of the xpac.

Why? Baine was a traitor. Traitors should be executed. Baine also sucks as a character/faction leader, so I'm sure nobody horde side would really care much if he got the ax.

well lore going in this way is pointing very strongly that next expansion will go into the direction of shadowlands instead void vs light . interesting if they are doing that to prelong the culmination .... aka 9.0 shadowlands ... 10.0 light vs void and end of WoW :P

Anyone who thinks sylvannas would sacrifice herself is silly.

Her entire purpose has been to find a way to make forsaken live forever - herself included, she's afraid of going back to the shadow lands, to die permanently.

She would never do it willingly to save the rest of azeroth, or even the rest of the forsaken.

Let's be real - she had an entire arc where she was fine damning the valkyr to be enslaved by helya so SHE could get what SHE wanted.
