    New pc advice

I'm finally going to replace my 7y old rig with a high end one and i'm a bit undecided on some components:

    Cpu: I7 9700k or i9 9900k? (i7 is 100€ cheaper)
Gpu: Asus Rog Strix RTX2080 (not TI)
Mobo: Asus Rog Maximum XI Hero or Asus Rog Strix Z390 Gaming? (Z390 is 55€ cheaper)
Ram: DDR4 Corsair VENGEANCE RGB 3000 MHz 16 or 32GB?
Cpu cooling: corsair H100X Hydro Series (i've been suggested to go for 240mm)
    Storage SSD 2TB
    SSD M2: 512GB

    Thanks in advance

Mods pls move this into computer build thread

If you are just gonna play games on it, then the i7 9700k is the way to go or even the i5 9600k.

As for mobo, you don't want to go Asus on the z390 line. They have used cheap and bad VRMs
On the z390 line, you want to go Gigabyte. Even the MUCH cheaper Gigabyte z390 aorus pro has better VRMs then the Asus z390 hero and the Hero cost 100€ more. I would go for the Gigabyte z390 aorus pro/pro wifi or the Ultra.

The Corsair h100x is an impressive cooler and a REALLY good chose for the price

9700k will perform identically in (most) games.
Asus' z390 lineup is meh, MSI/Gigabyte are better. But between those two, the ROG Strix is the better value. The Hero lineup is for XOC, so basically just if you plan on throwing liquid nitrogen on it.
16GB RAM is plenty for everything but work stations
120mm AiO's are overpriced and underperforming compared to pretty much every other kind of cooler on the market. So either go 240mm or air cooler

What about your monitor as well as PSU?

The only time you ever want to use a 120mm AIO is if the form factor demands it or for hybrid GPU cooling. In all other cases, @Temp name is correct.

Only minus with the h100x 240mm is that the fans are loud AF

Do you suggest going for the "silent" version?

I would actually go for the EVGA clc 280 if you still want to save some money. it's almost as cheap and cools much better

H100x is good. You can just replace the fans (which is the first thing I do on any AIO anyways).

The Corsair H100i pro and H150i pro come with their ML-series fans which are quite decent, no real reason replacing those

What do you do with your PC? No one can give you solid build advice without knowing.

If all you do is game then a 9600k is all you need with a decent OCing board and cooler.

Spend some funds on a good 1440p or 144Hz monitor. What is your budget?

I know this is kind of an odd question...are you considering doing a custom water loop?

Never done this kind of stuff before
As for the case i think i'm going for Corsair 500D, my only gripe is that seems a bit too small

I have a 2k 144hz monitor already (and is gsync compatible too), tbh i have nearly everything except a decent pc now, blackwidow chroma, G933 headsets and oculus
