On boy, that's going to be good (Sports Illustrated have a premiere...)

    https://www.bbc.com/news/48071948

    Three observations before accusation

1)I have absolutely nothing against women posing while wearing piece of strings and assorted minimalist cover providing they are over 18.
2)I'm of the opinion that islamic clothng is more a symptom than a problem (IE, a burqah is symptomatic of poor human rights, the burqah is just the most obvious symptom of it)
3)Before ''medieval'' accusations, this girl wear skimpy clothing by the Western standards of one century ago.

Is being progressive for the sole sake of "being progressive" still in-itself a good thing?

Presumably, at one point, it dawned on SI that people had other option for boobs than a magazine.

Interesting! The bourkini was of course introduced to restrict womens sexual appeal. Some countries have (tried to) ban them, which opens up a huuuge can of worms, ethically. This swings the other way. Instead of banning it, strip it of its repressive side, and allow women wearing it a sensual side.

And to be fair, being sexy is about more than showing skin.

If you can’t beat them, join em. This seems like a healthy development.

    disgraceful.

that thing shouldn't be glorified. the covering of women's bodies shouldn't be celebrated as empowering, it's the exact opposite.

the rise of puritanical behavior disturbs me beyond all else. we should be becoming more sexually deviant, but it feels like we're regressing in ways.

To repeat myself, to avoid accusation, I have absolutely nothing against women being naked for the camera (providing they are over 18). Therefore, having women lounging around with tiny piece of fabrics around the naughty parts is beyond tame.

I would make the observation that this woman is showing as much actual nudity as the other models with minuscule bikinis.

This is actually becoming more sexually deviant as many muslim cultures didn’t have swim wear before.

So wait, are we supposed to cheer for religious oppression or something?

Seems more like a stunt to get attention, if anything.

To repeat myself, a burkini is not ''religious opression''. It's the most obvious (visual) part of it.

If you are in favor of Islam becoming more progressive then ya I guess you should be cheering. The progress of swimwear is a step in the right direction if you want such things.

Well, the usual suspects keep harping that Muslims are ''medievals''. 1920 is a progress.

Yeah, my bad. Being forced to cover your entire body is progressive and empowering.

I guess people are more concerned with being called Islamophobe than calling out obvious BS.

Nobody has looked at Sports Illustrated since the internet. Who cares lol

As for trying to be "inclusive" which in itself is rather annoying.. Idk. White people owe immigrants everything and must include them in everything otherwise they are racist.
Meanwhile at the homes of non-white countries, "inclusion" isn't something anyone cries about despite their media and entertainment only depicting themselves.

What a funny world. You're white. Your ancestors killed people as if mine didn't do the same, possibly making the original owners of my country's lands extinct. You owe me everything I ask for, to uh, compensate for the pain my long dead ancestors went through that I no longer feel today. Er I mean, that I still feel today.

I don't know if more sexual deviancy is the answer...I don't want all of the US to become like california with a huge army of weirdos with STD's. But yeah this is a disgrace. I don't care what race anyone is but if you come to our country and think our culture should change to accept your shitty beliefs then why would we want you here? Every majority muslim country is a steaming turd, go live there if you think those beliefs work out. Don't bring that shit here.

This is clearly an attempt to try and get free publicity for a print magazine that is on the brink of death. The Swimsuit Issue stopped being important when internet porn went mainstream.
