    1.13 onward...

Bliz said that they will probably have to add brand new Vanilla content after Naxx.

So, i was thinking... what if the timeline unfolded differently this time?

The level is still 60. We will not leave Azeroth. The item level increases. The content's difficulty increases even more.

This would happen on different servers, where you could copy your characters. So that the "puuure" servers remain "pure".

Do me the honor and check this out. What do you think?

    PATCH 1.13.0
    • Story: Tension arises in the Hinterlands.
The Wildhammer Dwarves and High elves are not OK with the Revantusk Trolls hunting the gryphons for food and cutting down the forests.
    • New quests and a second world boss are availiable in the area.
    • New battleground: Battle of the Hinterlands. Two-phase battleground, attackers/defenders. Aerie Peak/Revantusk Village. Fastest capture wins.
    • New feature: Barber Shop.

    PATCH 1.13.1
    • Story: A conspiracy against the Forsaken is unveiled.
Sylvanas finds out that Varimathras was conspiring with Balthazar and other demons to replace or possess her and take control of the Forsaken.
She reluctantly turns to the Argent Dawn for help. It makes sense to fight shadow with light.
Any forsaken who were priests or paladins in life, are cautiously allowed to train with the Argent Dawn, and remember the ways of the light.
    • New quests and a world boss are availiable in Western Plaguelands.
    • New raid: Undercity. (All non-undead participants automatically wear an Argent Dawn tabard)
Fight through the demonic forces of the Nathrezim to retake Undercity for the Forsaken
    • In addition to helmets and cloaks, certain races can now "hide" more pieces of armor.
Shoulders, Waist, Hands, Wrists: All races.
Chest: Orcs, Trolls, Tauren, Dwarves, Night Elves.
      Feet: Trolls, Tauren, Night Elves.

    PATCH 1.13.2
    • Having fought beside their Wildhammer cousins, the Bronzebeards have now learned how to be shamans.
To unlock this, you need to have a Dwarf character exalted with Wildhammers, then complete a long hard quest chain.
    • Those select few forsaken former paladins, have returned from Argent Dawn to the Undercity and started teaching others. Undead can now be paladins. As they were in life.
To unlock this, you need to have an Undead character exalted with Argent Dawn, then complete a long hard quest chain.
    • Orcs and Undead have now the option to sit up straight, availiable at the barber shop.
    • Priest-specific racial skills are removed.
    • Lightwell is replaced by Fear Ward as the final talent in the Holy tree.

    PATCH 1.14.0
    • Story: Tension arises in Dustwallow Marsh.
Now that the threat of Onyxia is gone, the nobles and officers of Theramore want to expand outside the city borders.
The vast majority of the citizens is on their side, thus Jaina had no other option but to give in to their demands.
The armies of Theramore are now on an ogre-hunt to drive the Stonemaul clan out of the area.
The ogres ask their Horde allies for help.
    • New world boss is availiable in the area.
    • New battleground: Dustwallow Crescent. AV type battleground, Brackenwall Village vs North Point Tower.
    • Having fought beside both Dwarven clans, Humans have now learned how to be hunters.
To unlock this, you need to have a Human character exalted with Wildhammers and Ironforge, then complete a long hard quest chain.
    • Having fought beside the Revantusk forest trolls and the Tauren, the Darkspears have now learned how to be druids.
To unlock this, you need to have a Troll character exalted with Revantusk and Thunder Bluff, then complete a long hard quest chain.
    • New feature: A secondary, new travel form is availiable for shamans at their trainers.
Orcs: Red version of ghost wolf form.
      Trolls: Ghost raptor.
      Tauren: Ghost tallstrider.
      Dwarf: Ghost dire boar.
To unlock this, you need to have a shaman exalted with the Earthen Ring, then complete a long hard quest chain.

    PATCH 1.14.1
    • Story: The Burning Invasion.
Demons start pouring into Azeroth through the Dark Portal.
Kurdran and his Wildhammer gryphon riders are flying day and night to
evacuate as many survivors as possible from Outland to the newly established, neutral refugee camp in Deadwind Pass.
    • New quests and a world boss are availiable in Deadwind Pass.
    • New quests and a second world boss are availiable in Blasted Lands.
    • New raid: The Dark Portal.
You start at Deadwind Pass, and fight your way through demons and bosses, all the way to the Dark Portal.
Your goal is to clear the way for the refugees to fly safely back to the refuge camp.
In the end, you step through the portal to Hellfire Peninsula to fight the final boss and blow up the Dark Portal for good.
    • After living for so long beside gnomes and humans, the Bronzebeards have now learned how to be mages.
To unlock this, you need to have a Dwarf character exalted with Gnomeregan and Stormwind, then complete a long hard quest chain.
    • After living for so long beside orcs and forsaken, the Darkspears have embraced their dark tendencies and can now be warlocks.
To unlock this, you need to have a Troll character exalted with Orgrimmar and Undercity, then complete a long hard quest chain.

    PATCH 1.14.2
    • New Profession: Jewelcrafting.
To unlock this, you need to have a character with 300 mining, exalted with Outland Refugees, then complete a long hard quest chain.
    • Racials get more balanced.
      Warstomp: Is now instant cast.
Berserking: No longer has a low health requirment to be at full strength.
Stoneform: Now also removes magic and curse debuffs.
Shadowmeld: You are now harder to detect. Equivalent to stealth level 5.
Hardiness: Now passively reduces the duration of stuns by 20%.
WotF: No longer provides a five second immunity. Cooldown increased to 3 minutes.

    PATCH 1.15.0
    • Story: Strange things are happening at the Outland Refugee Camp in Deadwind Pass.
The dead spirits are restless and try to warn the living.
The animals of the area seem possessed and skeletons rise from their tombs but appear mutated.
    • New Raid: Crypts of Karazan.
Fight through mutated undead, spiders, and more..
At their bottom, the crypts appear breached. But there is a force field preventing you from going further.
It can only be opened by someone with the Atiesh staff who has also finished the "C'Thun's Legacy" questline.
You open it and descend deeper, into some weird caverns where you fight Old God cultists.
As you defeat the final boss, with it's last breath he causes an earthquake and the tower of Kharazan colapses. Thankfully, away from the camp.

    PATCH 1.15.1

    Class Changes:

    • The warrior talent "Improved Heroic Strike" now reads: Using Heroic Strike on an enemy affected by Sunder Armor, spreads Sunder Armor to 1/2/3 nearby enemies within 8 yards.
    • The warrior talent "Improved Charge" now reads: When entering combat you gain the "unruffled" debuff for 3 seconds. Allowing you to use Charge in combat.

    • The paladin holy talent Consecration is now baseline.
    • New paladin tier-3 holy talent. Merciful Consecration: your Consecration now also heals.
    • The paladin talent "Improved Righteous Fury" additionally increases the threat of your Consecration by 33/66/100%.
    • New paladin ability "Hand of Reckoning", identical to Taunt.

    • The hunter survival talent "Deterence" is now baseline.
    • New hunter tier-3 survival talent. Trap Launcher: Your next trap is launched to a target location within 30 yards. 1m Cooldown.
    • New hunter ability. Play Dead: Your pet casts Feign Death on itself until canceled.

    • Added mechanic for shamans - They can now customize a few presets of totems, one of each element, which will be summoned at the same time. (you know what i mean)

    • The rogue subtlety talent "Improved Sap" now maxes out at 100% from 90.

    • All three of the druid's trees receive a slight buff. (no idea what, never played one)

    • The mage spell Fire Ward is removed.
    • The mage spell Frost Ward is removed.
    • New mage spell Elemental Ward: Absorbs any of Fire, Frost, Nature damage.
    • New mage spell Cosmic Ward: Absorbs any of Shadow, Light, Arcane damage.
    • New mage spell Mage Table: i mean.. seriously.

    • Warlock Soul Shards no longer dissapear while logged off.

    PATCH 1.16.0

    • Story: Blood and tears start to rain periodically all over azeroth.
      The moon is blood red.
Goblins, Gnomes and Dwarves are looking through their telescopes and see some activity.
But it is not clear what is happening.
News from the temple of the moon in Darnassus say that the moon, Elune, is hurting.
The tauren confirm this. Mu'sha is in trouble. And we have to travel there and help her.
    • Blood, Tears and Crystalized forms of those, start raining in random zones, periodically.
Adventurers have to be really careful. They can't stay out in the open for too long or they will die.
Standing next to bulidings and objects give your cover against these rains.
Blood rain: Stacks up to 100 and reduces your stats by 1% per stack.
Blood hail: Stacks up to 100 and applies a strong bleed.
Tears rain: Stacks up to 100 and reduce any healing or food regen by 1% per stack.
Crystal hail: Stacks up to 100 and deals direct damage with each hit.
      These dont remove stealth.
    • On top of that, Blood and Tear crystaline elementals spawn in these areas. As well as rare bosses.
It is extremelly difficult to fight under the rain, but the rewards will be significant.
    • New raid: Working on it....

That's all i got so far.

    What do you think?

Where did you see this? Cuz both Brack and Ion said in their interviews that additional content post naxx (that wasn't in vanilla) is a no no. They did say that other expansions are possible tho, but that's not new content.

I think they never said that.

The game isn't even out yet. And after that we have worst-case a year of endgame phases, more likely two years.

"When asked if new level 60 content after Naxxramas could be developed, such as new 40 man raids, the team said anything is on the table and this is a love letter to fans. If the fans desire it, it will be considered."

I like the idea of new content, not so much what you posted here though, sorry.

In my opinion the logical course of the plot would be to deal with the ramifications of WC3:TFT, namely the Scourge instead of the way it played out. It seemed weird that the players would first go to Outland after the Lich King basically won.

So what I'd like to see is Northrend, with Azjol-Nerub as its own, vast zone (Blizzard said their greatest regret of Wrath was the lack of exactly this zone) and minimal changes to how the game is played. No Horde Paladins, no new class/race combinations etc.

If I got it my way and there'd be the kind of reboot I want, I'd have us go to Northrend, deal with the Lich King and the Scourge, then stumble upon some nasty Old god business while we're there (Azjol-Nerub) and then eventually deal with the Legion as the ultimate threat. No stupid filler expansions about faction war, just those are more than enough to give us 10 years worth of story.

Oh and no fucking hero classes.

Ah that one. Yh we had similar stuff in retail, with devs saying 1 thing and Ion another.
I'm sure the devs would love to make new stuff. But I'd stick to the thing both Brack and Ion said, cuz tbh it's up to them in the end.

I don't really care what they do as long as they can justify the cost and, most importantly, there are Classic servers that have nothing added to them and no class balancing.

You forgot the other interview where Ion (guy in charge) said new content is definately a no no.

Also logic: adding new content to classic doesn’t make any sense because we have retail for that. After classic came burning crusade. Nothing else. It wouldn’t make sense.

That seems too much effort for a fun nostalgy project. They'd rather go on with agenda and introduce BC server few years later, and so forth

complete a long hard quest chain

At best they'd introduce TBC content that was originally meant for Classic and then just go down the road of QoL changes from future expansions that players would like to see, or just QoL changes that fit Classic - the same way that OSRS works.

Your list is basically a piece of lore + world boss / battleground / raid. Typical BfA patch cycle. But main thing is addition of things that don't belong in Classic: barbershop, hiding armour, horde paladins, alliance shamans, troll druids, hero classes. One of the stupidest idea is to lock profession behind a reputation.

Not sure if you are trolling. If not, you clearly want BfA. BfA is that way --->
lore + BG + raid... what is so bad about that? what do you think a patch should include, if not also these?
i see your point about pala/shaman being shared. that would change gameplay indeed.
but why would you be against the rest? they change nothing.
what does the barber shop change? or hiding your shoulders, for example? nothing.
ok, i see, you're a classic purist zealot.
but this is supposed to be other servers, where you would copy your characters.

exactly because it is an RPG, players should not look like clowns, but like a believable representation of their class.
and they certainly should not look almost the same as another 100 lvl60s. that's completely unrealistic and takes the RP out of RPG.

it is because it is an RPG, players should be able to change hairstyles and shave or not.

so by your logic, they should also remove the "hide helmet" and "hide cloak" options as well.

    also,
dwarves could be mages in beta.
non-player trolls could be druids since vanilla.
    non-player dwarves could be shamans.
and there are even a few non-player undead paladins.
so it is all consistent as far as RP goes.

but you seem like a purist.
i bet you dislike the moving grass, and the high-res shadows.
or the twitter function.. and other non-gameplay-related things.

what happened to the #nochanges ?

  17. #17
I've always believed that WoWs biggest mistake was raising the level cap, the way you could incorporate new skills is to either so bug quest chains or have them as drops in raids similar to how they did it in aq20.

  18. #18
They shouldn't add new content but instead add more community events! For example the Wotlk pre-launch event etc.
