I'm gonna invoke Poe's Law on this one. That being said, it's pretty common knowledge that first-wave beta access generally goes to streamers, big-name fansites like MMO-Champ and WoWhead, and other people who can get word of mouth out, and randoms are selected to fill in the gaps, with more randoms picked as time goes by to fill the beta in and get a wider array of playstyles and skill levels (you never know what sort of insanity a player who isn't focused on min-maxing the level grind can come up with) so feedback is as complete as possible.
Of course, what they do with that feedback is a valid argument to have elsewhere.

I'm a previously competitive raider and have been playing since day 1 vanilla. Got my classic beta invite yesterday. I stream and only have a very small following with a couple of active people. I had zero watchers on my stream.. I figure it's because followers like mythic content and because some of the top world streamers have taken over for now.

Don't be stupid, most people who will play classic are casual. Yeah there are some nutbags who will try to get world first in various things to try and get 5 min fame but rest will take it slowly and nicely.

Last time I played on a private server, it was one with like.... 0.5 mob xp or something like that? Leveling took plenty long, and I was content to just jog around enjoying the starter zone music as I quested. I get the feeling a lot of players will cruise to 60 at an easy pace and people are vastly overestimating how many of the people who take a spin on Classic are going to follow the private servers' speedrunning meta versus enjoying the journey.

Just put in the X generation of human rights some socialists might want to push. The gov't will force game devs to let players get everything in game for no effort or pay fines because it's discrimination. They'll call it something liek this: "right to achievements". Wait for the next generation to put their candidates.
