Is anyone else offended by the term “social justice warrior”? Like they’re just knights fighting for a false cause. It’s like calling a conservative a neo-nazi. A lot of the people these days being branded as "SJWs" are just people who have an issue with something. A great example on this forum was how a thread stated that this Youtuber Soph who said a lot of really nasty shit including a death threat to someone at Youtube was, and I quote... "Buzzfeed & SJWs help to ban GEN Zer Soph".

What does this actually have to do with SJWs? Does it make someone an SJW to dislike belligerent idiots on the internet, and to not disagree with banning someone from a platform when they send death threats? What does "SJW" actually mean these days, just someone who doesn't like shitty humor from 14 year olds who spout rhetoric they aren't old enough to even understand?

The term lost its meaning years ago. People fight and crusade against the "SJWs" when in truth the entity known by that name at this point includes essentially every person who has ever been bothered by a thing on the internet ever. It includes a ton of liberal, moderate, and even the most extreme of conservative people because any time someone has an issue with and finds something not acceptable it's the immediate go-to term to dismiss their complaints.

Their big flaw with the term "SJW" is that the people complaining about each part of the internet are not the same people every time, and as long as the internet exists there will be somebody who has an issue with something that you like. It's not some sort of fun-ruining riot mob of rainbow haired women trying to take away everything you enjoy.

Never understood the point of recognising privilege, for a start it dosnt help any one, it just serves to get peoples backs up, every one has certain privileges and disadvantages from there demographic and that changes so much based on location and social class, I mean saying some rich Beverly hill white boi has has white privilege looks right when you view white people only from that middle class American centric lense but do you really want to say that to Romano gypsies, Irish gypsies, many Easter Europeans in Europe or white people who face discrimination in nations where there the minority?

The narrative of white privilege as a blanket idea comes across to me as for of vary blatent American privilege and americo-centerism the belife the World is America or like America, which is a very old gripe the people of the world have with America and Americans, no matter how well meaning they might try to be they always seem to fall into the trap as coming across as very supremacist, either trying to dictate the morals or the money.

Ok let’s take race out of it. The English faced the same dynamics in the U.S along with French then Irish even Italian. Sure they had their own communities and segregated as such. But there were for sure those with and those without privilege.

The we have you don’t and it has nothing to do with who works harder. Moonshine the Mafia all of these became extensions of what happen when one group of expressed that influence on another. Even today the U.S corridor between the east and west Chicago stands as monument of to crimes like prostitution, alcohol prohibition, corruption, gangs and murder. All because one group was treated differently than another.

Obviously some didn’t have anything to do with that, but others did. Depending on where you stood it had everything to do with your experience. One group says yes the other says no.

So you have two choices you accept that’s the way it is. Or like Al Capone you go through them for you and yours. Because along with discrimination you’re dictated to how you should and shouldn’t deal with that based on rules and laws you had nothing to do with. Designed to keep you out.

Whether it’s a monolithic thought process or not.


Now me as a man being biracial, straight my last name. I’m not going to do that to anybody. If I see someone be held back that won’t be heard it is me that needs to speak up with them.

If someone is being held back further than the starting line than me or needs to be given the same chance to catch up I will stand up and advocate for that. Because that was done for me. So who am I not to risk for someone else regardless to race, gender orientation.

Race just happens to be a stronger divide that’s why it’s important to recognize. Everyone coarse is different. But even if I hated or disliked someone. I don’t play ignorance or pride for having something I didn’t earn. I also don’t take pride even if I know someone else was sabotaged for me to win.

That’s why recognizing privilege matters. Race and gender and orientation have to be brought up so much because it’s still a problem.

It’s not because of everyone, but privilege is still a good place to hide for some.

I wouldn't say I'm offended, so much as annoyed that it's become a label that doesn't really mean anything. Originally it may have been used to describe particularly extreme advocates of socially progressive ideas, but now it's basically just another insult used to deride an entire hemisphere of ideologies.

It went full circle years ago. Both sides look like crybaby victim fetishists at this point. As long as it keeps those spergs busy on the forums/facebook/4chan/clickbait "news" sites instead of venturing out to places that normal people who have actual lives like to inhabit, I'd say this is the best possible outcome for society.
