    Question What does "beguiling" mean?

    https://www.wowhead.com/news=292179/...nd-information

English is not my native language. Season 3 affix "beguiling" sounds unfamiliar to me because i rarely saw this word.
And this term is localized as the meaning of seduction, distraction or something in my ptr server .
This translation seems proper to you, native english speakers?
I looked up 'beguiling' in the dictionary and i feel like this translation doesn't reflect the mechanic of the affix, considering how this affix works.

An Expression like "Killing time" seems the right translation to me.
So... am i right? Or anyone who can explain the exact meaning of this word?

Means alluring, or enchanting when applied to a persons personality. To be beguiled is to be completely taken by a persons appearance or presence.

It's basically a descriptive of someone who is charmingly deceptive. A seductress can be beguiling. One could say the serpent in the story of the Garden of Eden was beguiling. It's basically one using their charm and/or swagger to manipulate another. In short to mislead another.

Looking up "beguile" in an English-German dictionary, it gives me two words that I would translate back as "seduce" and "deceive, delude". So, I would say it means "to deceice via seduction".

Which at least fits with the Enchanted and Tides Emissary, as they buff nearby trash mobs to help them kill you (and thus achieving their own goal)

However, I think the affix name rather relates to Azshara in general, a master... beguiletress? Remember, she was loved by her Kaldorei people to the point that it was likely boosted via magic.
But your duty to Azeroth is not yet complete. More is demanded of you... a price the living cannot pay.

So isn't this the right meaning in this situation?
Azshara's handmaidens come to a dungeon to kill time and teleport out of the dungeon after having fun. This is how the affix works according to WoWhead's post.

Yep, that's way better than how I put it.
