WC3 Reforged Lore hopes

As we know, the storyline in the upcoming remake will have some changes to "adapt them better" to the WoW storyline
So, do you have any hopes and/or fears about this?


My hopes are:
-A little more dialogue on the 'lesser races' of each faction (Dwarves, Trolls, Tauren,etc)
-Unique models for each lore figure that didn't have one on warcraft 3 (Muradin, Antonidas, Akama, Vol'jin, Rokhan, Cairne, etc)

My fears:
-Completely changing a character's backstory or changing their mindset
-Some missions having a different storyline entirely


Do you have any hopes or fears for Reforged?

Aren't they going to change some things to be more in line with the Chronicles? I feel like that would be expected..and I'm not sure what they said about voice lines, but I think they may change those too.

I hope that all locations will be more WoW-like and current retcons will be considered.

I am feared that they add new retcons and censor night elves.

They will keep it all the same, but adding some more details that were added in WoW an chronicles.
The problem is, will they rehire the original voice actors back or the new missions will be made with the new ones in mind? mainly OG Arthas VA who has a fuckhuge grudge with blizzard.

They wont make any major changes, just minor dialogue changes to in game cut scenes... As much as it was the game that made me fall in love with Jaina I hope she gets more meaningful dialogue while still keeping her a little naive, shy and reserved approach she had... my biggest issue was her lack of dialogue in that game..

As long as they don;t change the encounter dialogue between Arthas and Uther, that confrontation is a highlight of that game.

I wonder if they will totally retcon Illidans cinematic in outland after taking black temple, it's made apparent he fled to outland to hide from Kil'jaeden. Then comes the lolgion lore where he quite literally starts a 1v1 with him in tomb of Sargeras then in the next tier hes off desperate to fight sargeras of all people.

What was the point of the orc demon gates if they had spaceships the entire time? Like the whole Kil'jaeden thing portal in tbc was the sunwell when Arthas literally held that place to resurrect Kel'thuzad, they could have just used it to summon Archimonde there instead? Or the fact Kil'Jaeden comes in a spaceship in legion.

I'm kind of interested to see what they do with Sylvanas, the warbringers cinematic is totally different to how it went down in wc3, the warbringers was more condensed into an actual believable war where as wc3 it was just a stand off between the 2.

Will Sargeras have an actual model this time in the Gul'dan flashbacks?

Will they explain how and why Arthas shows up to Kalimdor to talk to Illidan when he's not even fully taken Lordaeron? Like why was the plague even started on the humans when the Burning Legion were really only at war with the Night elves? is it just because of the guardian? Was dalaran really a target of Archimonde because of the guardian or was it just a consequence of where he was summoned? who knows.
But more importantly why start the plague in Lordaeron for a war in Kalimdor.

How tf did Mannaroth even get to Kalimdor this time? There was no well of eternity powered portals this time.

I'd like to see a more indepth aspect of Jaina in the Rexxar campaign because no matter the circumstances, helping someone to kill your own father is a bit out there.

A bit more explanation on Illidans naga and why they followed him, we all know now why they followed him, but honestly it was terribly portrayed in wc3 itself and i don't think it was until tbc? that we actually found out why.

A clarification that Muradin doesn't die from frostmourne.

While this isn't lore related, i really hope they introduce a way for orb stacking, offers a lot more to custom games without it but i can't see it happening, Dota got rid of it pretty soon after Dota 2 was officially released and never looked back.

Ultimately though, what we all want is the Arthas and Illidan fight to be better than it was, i kinda expect a cinematic for that fight, and possibly them actually telling you that Illidan doesn't die.

I would love to see few "hard" retcons. Like last mission of Nelf frozen throne campaign being about tyrande going all out SFC and not only not being saved, but saving both malfurion and illidan. At once.

Also more jaina. Much more jaina. Like few 1 hour long cinematics full of her thought provoking internal dialogue.

What I'm actually fearing is about the most "controversial" Human characters being whitewashed into oblivion. #GarithosDidNoWrong and/or #DaelinDidNoWrong, while Orc/Forsaken characters are demonized, so that it can fit BfA's narrative. #ThrallToTheGallows

If they retcon the genius of Tyrande destroying the brigde she's standing on, blood elves' campaign just won't be the same

Baine isn't even in WC3... That's Cairne, who was cool.

He actually is, you escort him to Cairne after he was abducted by Centaurs in the Rexxar campaign. He has not a single line in that game though. I wish it would have stayed that way.

I kinda want that bit unchanged. I mean, they left for us to guess what those centaurs actually did to him while he was capture, which, if you put your imagination to work, could actually explain quite a lot about him.
