Get an education. Move to a bigger city, with more jobs, and get a better job. Get better at Photoshop, design logo's and get those sweet, sweet commissions rolling. Get a promotion at work.

Check for blood donation places near you. Here in the US you can get ~600USD a month (depending on the timing of donations) for donating plasma. Roughly an hour and half of squeezing a ball per week.

Depending on your physical appearance and shape, prostitution is crazy easy money. Your gender doesnt even matter if you can clench your teeth hard enough. Its also legal in most eu countries.

I mainly hope to find suggestions/recommendations and feedback on things I can do from home as I'm usually physically too tired after a long day at the office, but can't help but feel restless at home in my mind and fingers as I desire to do *more*.

I love the feedbacks, everyone - please do throw more at me!
How about studying to get a degree?

Wow, go to lunch and get back to gold! Let's see if I can read and reply to all.
First off; Degree. I have a great fundament, but without funds or an income - studying isn't an option right now other than what I can do at the end of the day at home. Given I have a full-time job, I need to do half-course of the studying, resulting in 4 years of studying *at least*, before it will have results. I need a job I can pick up now to get my situation in order so I can then pick up the pace on studying and hopefully change job.

I will look into the photoshop thing - getting a repetory and then start to design logos would be another dream I kinda have, but went for a bigger dream - game dev. I wouldn't mind working as a lesser dream while pursuing my main one~ So I'll look into it! But for now.... I need something soon.

They're not allowing prostitution in Norway. Well, it's legal to SELL it, just not to BUY it. Not really my issue as I'd be selling but I'd have to travel far to find anyone wanting to do that...(Haven't really reflected upon if that's anything I'd be willing to do, but... I'm not immediately screaming "no" in my head. ....is... is that bad?)

I used to write porn for a living. My hobbies include writing, so I can make vivid stories and whatnot. Could write porn be something that would be something? At amazon you can get any sort of book published - I see LOTS of silly books there, but... do they sell? Are you able to make a living?

You're a chef? Why not start baking stuff for other people. You can probably profit 500 NOK for a cake, which shouldn't take too much time, right? Social media gives you free marketing. A few happy customers, and you're getting a good reputation also.

Unlicensed chef selling self baked food items to people? That has so much potential to go wrong as far as health and safety regulations might be concerned. That's even if the products are flawless.

Do you go to the gym? Sign up with a food delivery company and do this on a bike instead of working out. You do not have to pay a gym fee, you make a little extra and it is 100 times more fun than a workout. I don't have the time right now but I did this a lot of evenings last year and made about $25 Canadian an hour but, I live downtown in a major city and am a really good cyclist so your mileage may vary.

Making a pretty cake (paying customers want it to be pretty) requires some artistic talent as well.

And a lot of time and effort and in the end it doesn't pay all that well especially if you don't have your own bakery also selling other kind of pastries and bread with a much higher time/profit ratio. I have a friend who makes extremely beautiful wedding and birthday cakes, and she does is because she loves doing it, not because of the money.

Thing about living in Norway is that we have quite the distances depending on where you live. I live in a place where most of the local workplaces are exhausted as in not hiring, and getting a new job is quite tricky living in such a remote place.
I take all the overtime I can get, but since I am so eager with my job, I there's rarely any. Slacking off at work to create overtime is not an option either as my top performance is now expected of me. (Tad bit why I am studying in my sparetime for now - to get away from all of this)
    I really appreciate your feedback!

In America we run into the same problem all the time. Best thing to do is to move to a place with a lot of jobs.

    TL;DR at the end.

For years, I've been struggling to make ends meet, and while backed up against the walls, one starts to do various of things that's less than respectable in today's society. Well, still legal, but frowned upon. As an example, I wrote sexual backstories for characters in a forum-game... Things has been so tight that I taught myself photoshop last year just before xmas to make a few bucks in commissions so I could get my closest ones a gift.

I by all means don't got any expensive lifestyle, but due to a rough past, I have some loans I need to pay off. I work a normal 8-16(4pm) office job and have a rather high work morale given being pushed into a tight corner given the financial situation. "If I work really hard, I will manage to survive" has been my motto, but as of late it has been turning out to be less and less true due to my dead-end job pushing numbers around.

So my question to my dear readers - what are your tips for making some extra on the side? What are you doing? Is it something everyone can do?
I'm really looking for something I can do from home during the afternoons/evenings. Anything that can land me an extra 1000USD/800EUR is highly appreciated.

    TL;DR
OP needs cash infusion - curious what you guys do for extra income and if its something he can do as well.
Apart from some stuff on the side on and off (Security at my local pub, the odd coding at Uni) i never earned money by the side, so i cannot give you any tips on that.

Another question though: Would you consider changing the job and/or even country?

Because, i work in IT and we are severely lacking manpower. It's not that the company pays badly, but every IT company i know faces the same problem. Everyone is short on people. For example we are currently looking for testing and support staff. We don't even need experience and a special education (the last two guys we hired were a retailer from a cigarette shop and a cook), and we are willing to invest heavily into training the guys, because to be honest the first 2-3 months they make more work than helping alleviate it. And for a entry level position without previous work experience/education it is not paid shabby - i think it's about 1700 fourteen times a year after taxes (which is pretty good for the living costs here - a supermarkt clerk makes about the same, and i'm talking about entry level. After a year you have to get another position (by law!) and make at least 2000 x 14 after taxes).

TL,DR: If you're willing to move (inside the EU) there are always options

I’d recommend analyzing your spending first. Really map it out. You probably know your rent and average electric or utilities, but do you know how much you spend per month on gas? On groceries? Eating fast food or restaurants? What’s the average you spend every month on entertainment?

When you actually put all this down in front of you, it gives you a better understanding on how to make the most of your current income. I’ve had to do this several times in my life and cut out some things to make my situation work.

Seems like some of your problems stem from where you live currently. Is there anything keeping you where you are? What other opportunities would you have if you moved? Is there any reason you HAVE to live where you are now?

Unless he's setting up a shop/cafe/restaurant, I don't think there are as many regulations to consider.

I didn't read everything that was posted, but usual your job should be enough to live of it.

If you don't get enough money from it, talk to your boss. Say you want a raise. Tell him how you can improve your office' future and that's why you need more cash.

If you don't get more money, consider applying somewhere else. You don't need to overdo it, but find another place where you earn >500 $/Euro more a month and you will have a better income without overworking yourself.

The Job you have now might be nice and everything, but it's worth nothing if you can't life of it.
