If that other republican had gone all apologetic then for sure he would have lost. But if they'd done what Trump did and just shrugged it off it then no. Republicans don't care if their presidential candidates assaults women, hires prostitutes, is a racist, or do any of the other disreputable things Trump has done. They just don't want someone to be weak about it. That's what Trump recognized. As long as you don't apologize for being a racist. As long as you don't apologize for sexually assaulting women republican voters don't care. Just ballzy through it and you'll get their vote.

Well yeah. Considering they’re screening applications and taking the more educated among the group, they do seem more picky. As I said, I just went through this for my wife and her mom. I had to provide proof of being able to support her. Yearly income and other info.

As opposed to letting people flow across the southern border who don’t speak English, have little education and don’t have anyone to fall back on if something happens to them, that’s a huge difference.

    @szechuan - did I misunderstand your comment?

It’s so very telling that none on the left get Trumps appeal to normal everyday Americans. And calling them all deplorable and uneducated animals doesn’t help.

I'm sorry, but the clear bias towards certain candidates was self evident. There's no reason to allow a dozen back-and-forths between Biden and Harris and then send the next question to Biden.

There's a rule they had that if another candidate mentions another, the attacked person get's a chance to respond.

It was better than NBC where Chuck Todd had more talk time than 1/2 the candidates...

I think it's text Joe to 30330... but yeah, this is kind of scary if he's fucking up this much now.

Correction: Sanders doesn’t connect with older minorities well.

Joe saying he was good enough for Obama that's good enough for a big chunk of democrats, many of whom think Obama was pretty good.

I'm very content if he doesn't figure out how to speak. Make room for the real candidates.

I think it was even more than that. He managed to make it out like it was no big deal, just locker room talk, nothing serious you guys. Completely sold it. Not a lot of candidates can be that breezy under such a serious threat to their candidacy. I worry that Biden would stick a move on him and be caught unready by the easy response. Or, alternatively, be unready under attack himself.

I'm not trying to oversell Trump here, but whoever goes up against him needs to be ready for a fight over perception. A guy who can take a career-ender and turn it around is someone who needs to be dealt with carefully.

Being a VP worked great for Gore. Being part of Obama's administration worked great for Clinton.

A big chunk of the Gore vote went to Nader, a third party guy.

That's exactly what it is. Knowing his campaign, its probably going to get you on some loosely secure mailing list that will bug you for the next 20 years.

Point is that Biden's old associations won't carry him to the WH. Not even through the primary.

I think sort of the opposite. The attacks on his postions from 40 years ago won't hold much water, but his close association with Obama from 4 years ago will definitely help.

    1) Not really true
    2) There were more registered Democrats in Florida that voted for Bush than Nader’s vote total in the state
