I'll continue logging in for 30 minutes every couple of days to collect sales and repost auctions from the massive collection of pets/xmog/mats/etc that I built up over the past few years.

Okay, day 2.
That's when people can gather enough gold to buy a level 40 mount.
There are always rich people who throw around money, and it's especially tempting in an environment like classic. Buy gold on retail, trade it for classic gold. And I bet on EU there are more than enough players who would happily supply the demand.
He has had an education, people don't chose where they are born. He has family there, and a job he can be proud of.
The fact your comment actually touches on the "education" subject is deliciously ironic.
On topic,
I agree with Malacrass, goldspam will be a thing.
Same for botting, cheaters and devs are basically at a continuous arms race.
And yup, allot of trade X amount on New vs X amount on Vanilla gold requests.

Same, my stupid pokémon collection sold for approx gold cap and misc other stuff i had lying around + raw gold became approx 4 million so im safe for a while hehe since in total its about 12-14 million, not sure but i got 60 wow tokens atm already bought and ive activated a few since before so i got gametime untill christmas.
I will buy ONE less boardgame over a 6 months period time and I am all good for half a year subs...
Playing WoW is the cheapest hobby I ever had, by far.
It all comes down to efficiency, and more importantly the recognition that unlike WoW almost nothing else in life has an alternate method of payment besides money. Stop thinking about it in terms of $15 and start thinking long term. Taking advantage of WoW's alternative payment method has saved me over $800 so far. That's actual money that can be used for various other hobbies that I have plenty of time to enjoy as well.
Look, I don't really have an issue with people who decide to give their hard earned money for an MMO sub. In fact, my ability to play the game for free is dependent on people who trade their IRL money for fake money.
MY issue is the smug dumb-asses who use the "I'm an adult with a job" excuse to try to shame people who would rather not spend money when they don't have to. Take that guy I originally responded to who apparently makes $15/hour and calls me a "poor NEET". I didn't come here for a dick measuring competition, but that $800+ I've saved is more than he brings home for a full week's work before taxes. For me, it's less than I bring home each week AFTER taxes, 401K contributions, stock purchase plan, medical, dental, office parking permit, and mortgage payment. And yet here I am encouraging people to save their money and be more efficient with their time.
The thing is if you have the means to pay for a sub with cash instead of in game grinding, that it is more efficient use of time since it takes vastly less time to achieve the same result of getting 30 days of game time. I guess in this case it just boils down to how much value you put on your own time. And either way is fine but I would rather pay for my sub with cash and use the extra time I would have spent in game farming gold, farming for mounts/transmogs.
If you don't have 10M at this point, you wasn't really trying. Just pay with bucks like everyone else.

FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..
Put it on a credit card until the debt overwhelms you, like an adult.

I thought this would be a fun thing to calculate, until I remembered that you'd basically be paying the advertised rate if you have interest rates on your card that aren’t astronomical, like 500%.
The 6-month sub is about $78, or $12.99/month. Paid over six months while gaining interest that comes out to $13.27/month at 7% annual interest.
That’s less interest-ing (get it?) than I thought it would be. But yeah, you could probably fill out online surveys and get that much money per month pretty quickly, if one isn’t able to leave the house and work a 2 hour per month part time job.
I bought a years worth of tokens a couple months ago. After that I guess Ill dip into 27m gold I still have on live.
Depends on the server. I have herb / alchemy on three different servers and it varies wildly. One server, the raid scene is basically dead so flasks go for 400 if you're lucky. Other one has a few guilds on it that dip into Mythic raiding so they sell for about 700 a piece. Other server has some big name guilds on it so they easily sell for 1,000 - 1,500 on good days.
Needless to say, if I'm going to be farming and selling, the one server is where I'm going to do it, but yes it is one of the easiest ways to earn gold with very little time investment / difficulty.
