Don't fight mobs that are 3 levels higher than you.

Try to focus on quests that are green/yellow.

At level 40 frost mages can pull 9 mobs at a time with mount and kill them all with all the aoe they have before they lose half hp.

It gets better the more spells you have.

Use R1 frostbolt for kiting, and focus fire specc/spell until 24+. Then you can specc AOE frost, and get real XP gains.

The thread is negative/pointless and low effort, if it was something more than a personal blog cluttering up the site I'd have responded positively.

Fight mobs on same lvl as you. The higher than you they are the more they resist your spells.

Mage leveling looks comfy compared to rogue that I am doing right now.

Group up with other people, don't go about it solo.

The only problem with leveling a Mage is that you're just mashing 1 to 3 buttons all the time, but this is a Classic... how can I say... "feature" of all classes.
Beside that, Mage is pretty good for leveling, you just have to be a bit more careful because things hit harder. Don't rush, remember to drink and don't aggro all Azeroth. Classic is not difficult.

Kiting and using your slows and stuff isnt very hard. Seen mages kiting groups of 10 with ease. Not very hard tbh.

I survive a bit better; now I can pull 3 maybe 4 mobs if I get lucky, but I'm far from invincible . This game is just hard & that is okay. Now I'm playing my mage again & not feeling like a squishy nub.
Pls tell me how pulling 1 mob at a time vs 3 or 4 makes a game hard. Your voluntarily making it harder on yourself. The game is easy.

Make a level 10 classic warrior and fight level 10 scorpions in durotar. Then make a level 10 warrior on retail and do the same thing, let me know which goes better lol

Give him advice how? No facts were stated other than him playing a Mage first then a Paladin, so there is no way to know what advice to give.

As others have said, mage is pretty baller at leveling, just use control right (slows and stuff) and kite in a big ass circle.
It's vanilla, you don't mass pull at lower levels when by yourself.
One at a time is the way to go (especially if your gear is quest reward/random greens, which are sometimes multiple levels below you).
Also stick with mobs at/below your level; this isn't Retail where you can yolo 5 mobs 2-3 levels above you and just mow them down while cackling with glee.
If you see a level (you +2), one at a time or come back later, if you don't want to deal with the risk of death and the potentially dreadful corpse run.

And if you think mage is bad, try leveling a warrior solo.
You can paint a house and watch it dry in less time than each ding.

    mages are strong.
i play a rogue i pull 1-2 at the time, i can take 2-3 mobs at equal lvl with blade flurry, 3-4 with BF+evasion.

but this is vanilla, were not supposed to chain big aoe pulls. unless you are a frost mage with frost nova + blizzard

There's only really 1 way to level a mage in vanilla without wanting to hang yourself with fishing-wire; frost.
