I am glad the community has finally had enough of ANets shit and retarded SJW drama I've been complaining about since the beginning. They getting roasted as fuck on reddit I love it. I hope they crash and burn until they are forced to release some decent content, restructure their team and get some competent fucking management.

Why is ANet full of hipster trash that have no clue about anything and cry 'toxicity' wolf every time they are confronted for their bullshit? It's embarrassing at this point. Finally they have repeated this shit enough times that the community has woken up.

Incoming roadmap or they can enjoy a dead game with their continued silence.. we know they have future plans for the game they just need to stop being retarded and tell us what it is. NCSoft either has them by the balls or they are quite possibly the most ignorant devs in the industry next to Wildstar devs..

They hire nothing but people like that, you can see it in the whole team.

Delusional SJW fucks , the story sucks because of it too and why we have retarded characters like taimi and braham and everything feels very disney-ish. I guarantee they didn't want to fire her, in fact they agree with her, they just had to.

ANet sees their community as the enemy which is the norm these days for people like them, nothing but blind hate and distrust but we are the toxic ones. I really miss the old ANet, gamers making games for gamers. Now is just $$$$ and silence with the occasional cry tweet.

There was nothing 'SJW' about Jessica. She was someone who couldn't take criticism so they got rid of her.
They also got rid of anyone who agreed with her.

Not sure how you can say Anet hates its community. I see them all the time in game and on various Discord servers, and I only play the game long enough to knock out some dailies.

SJW is probably as broadly applied as Nazi, so using any of the labels is pretty pointless nowadays.

I do think there's a bit of an echo chamber at times, especially among game developers or social media companies, where they think all their customers are the same type of person as them. I don't think they're targeting opposition, I think they just don't realize the wide breadth of people that enjoy their product.

The announcement on the 30th was incredibly disappointing but I smelled it coming. They said the layoffs wouldn't affect Season 5 and yet they had barely anything to show.

Even the build templates WIP looked so shoddy. Again they barely showed any of it. No menu, no UI. They announced them in the roadmap months ago and they've only just started working on them? Anything they implement seems to take FOREVER.

Y'all can hate Jessica Price all you want but after seeing what's coming she was right about the future of the game being a rocky one. They had no idea if there even would be a Season 5 until August last year and the IcEbRoOd SaGA is really all they have to show.

I feel like this game is heading into story maintenance mode and it's depressing as hell. It's a live service single player game.

well she certainly didnt help with her attitude did she? Having someone like that in your team bogs it down and poisons the work effort. Hard times are just made impassible when you have a coworker draining your energy and spirit.

I myself am just going to enjoy playing another chapter. The expansion will come along whenever, The living story will do for now. Im not obsessed with the game afterall. Though improvements like the builds would be great, sooner the better.

I'm of the opinion that it is simply difficult to gauge the thoughts of your target demography and the thoughts of people actually playing your games.

Ostensibly, going to a forum and reading up on discussion about your game would be representative of your true customers, right? Except no, the people who talk about your games on your forum are hardly representative of the majority. They are the vocal minority, and time and time again it has been shown that mistaking the vocal minority for the majority, can be detrimental to success, as it has a tendency to result in focusing on the wishes of the vocal minority as opposed to the silent majority, who didn't speak up because they were satisfied with what they got.

As for Anet's "wokeness", I wouldn't necessarily say that's indicative of the video game industry specifically. We live in 180 character culture where outrage and negativity is how you get attention, and SJWs want their feel good points for tearing down public figures and institutions and making themselves out to be some great heroes leading a crusade against evil in the process. It's easy to call someone evil and advocate for them to lose their job when you have the protection of anonymity and the disconnect of only seeing a fragment of that person through a computer screen, but you would be certainly hard pressed to find someone who would say the same thing to that person's face in a room full of people. If you spend most of your time on Twitter, it can seem like SJW culture is big, but in actuality that doesn't even register on the radar for normies living in the real world. Unfortunately, if you're a commercial content creator, you're probably spending time on the internet reading for reactions to your work, and when you see the same thing over and over day by day, it's easy to mistake that for reality. Thus, developers mistakenly capitulating to the SJW mob, thinking that will boost their sales, even though they wouldn't have bought the game anyway.

So, i'm playing through PoF on a second char, and i noticed something. The chapter "Blazing a Trail" has the option to unlock one of three collection achievements, the "raising the banners:" ones. After you finish the chapter, the collection unlocks with the first item, a backpack. In the case of the "Salute to Palawa Joko" collection, the backpack is called "Banners of King Palawa Joko 1". It is clearly shown in the collection to be an exotic backpack, with stats. But... i never got that item. I only realized it now, doing it on a second char that could need an exotic backpack, that i also did not receive the exotic backpack you're supposed to get when you decide for amnoon to stay independent, which i did on the first character. Shouldn't that backpack either pop up in my inventory, or be contained in one of the boxes you get for completing the chapter? Because neither seems to be the case.

Do you have the skin unlocked?

I'm pretty sure it's a reward for that story step, but it's been a while.

Yeah, i have the skin, but the actual item with stats, as shown in the collection window, never arrived in my inventory.

Also, did i miss something, i thought build templates were supposed to release today with the season 5 prologue?

I honestly don't remember the physical item since it's been a while. If you've got the old Living Story stuff, they practically rain down ascended backpacks for each zone, and IIRC the crafting backpack tops out at an Ascended level 78 one also, though of course that depends on having high enough ranks and you're probably a newer player?

I don't think they gave a date for the build templates, it was just part of the overall presentation. Not sure though.

Correct. They re-confirmed it's something they're still working on and it's "coming", but didn't give any timelines.

Has anyone played the new chapter yet? I read a spoiler-free preview and it seems cool, metal band event and a warhorn item that makes your character scream (RIP my guardian ;__.

I've read some decent things about strikes, just haven't had a chance to jump in and dig through the content yet. Hopefully this weekend, and I can start my heli-dragon mount farm. I'm freakin slackin with all the other games I'm playing right now. DAMNIT WHY ARE THERE TOO MANY GOOD GAMES AND GOOD UPDATES COMING OUT FOR GAMES : |

Played through story and couple of metas (concert and ooze pit). Story is pretty good, especially if you like Charrs. I liked that it was mostly politically centered rather than some immediate danger. Concert was really entertaining with variety of events and their constant stream, ooze pit is nothing special. I didn't have much time to play other events.

As for strike missions, peopel say that jumping puzzle before the boss are harder than boss itself, which just allows you to stack and burn through his health in under a minute. I couldn't try it myself due to issues with public queue, maybe I'll just clear it with PUG squad when I'll have more time.

Metal Concert event is fun. Make sure you have your music own or its very weird.

Finished the story, did all the event chains. Everything is like a tech demo for future episodes. Anet showed off a lot new tricks. Don't expect anything too deep, though it felt more fleshed out than a few 'full" episodes.

The Metal Legion (band) Meta Event is great, I think. Lots of little events tied in thematically and the energy is pretty high there I think. You'll have 2-3 little events at a time.
The microphone warhorn I haven't gotten yet, but will.
There's a new emote that it a meta-achievement reward, not sure I'll bother.
The other three events are typical, but thematically good. The Flame Legion fire run is not intuitive at first, but fine and then boss fights. Ash legion is a simple escort and boss fight. Blood gets the ooze-put which is typical in it's ways.
Jumping puzzle, not hard really. I was actually climbing a random cliff face after unlocking the chest, convinced that there was more to it. Looked it up and found out there wasn't, but oh well. It was a fun enough puzzle.

Story itself is not bad, politics and personalities. It's slow though, lots of walking to drag stuff out. One part where you need to go to random events around the map to earn the next story part. Predictable for me, but nicely done I think.

The zone is nice, it's good looking with varied terrain and there are some monsters here or there but it is NOT densely packed combat like other zones. You can wander around without having to worry about a random bad guy chaining a bunch of conditions or some persistent jackal guy popping out of the ground ages later.

One thing that bugs me is invisible walls at the borders, the map is full of them. Why they can't just put up a big mountain face, I'll never know.

Nice, guess I'll have to find some time for this over the weekend then. The more focus on Charr politics etc. is legit what I've been wanting out of the story. Less focus on "OH EM GEE DRAGON ENDING THE WORLD!" and more on "smaller" events, especially when it comes to inter-race politics.

I mean, it does lead into the next story, so it's got some elements.
And really, there's Halloween coming up, and Wintersday, so unless they drop the next Living Story in November (seems unlikely), you've got some time. As long as you unlock it of course.

You could hit the highlights with a couple hours game play, and have enough time for grindy achievements later.

They said in an interview that they're trying to drop the 'first episode' in November. Supposedly episodes should come out ofaster because they've decided they'll use reuse assets and maps (a mix between season 1 and 2).

I dig the new content. Story was pretty good, new zone is great with lots always going on, rewards are good. Seems like plenty of good collectables etc. too.

We need more events like the metal concert, that's freakin fantastic.
