I love Autumn, the crunching on leaves under foot, the risk of conkers falling on your head as well as the feel of the perfect weather, not too cold but just enough warmth

It's my favourite of seasons. Just something about Autumn that makes me feel so nostalgic.

New Jersey is very nice in Autumn. Cool crisp air, leaves changing, lots of sports to watch. No need to use the AC or turn the heat on much in October, early November, it’ll typically stay in the upper 60s in my house.

In my beer travels I spend a lot of time in the Coastal NE region and the more rural parts of Jersey remind me of the more rural parts of Massachusetts, Long Island, Connecticut. Very similar.

Side note, once you get away from the I-95 corridor NJ is actually pretty nice in a lot of places. It’s not all Sopranos and Jersey Shore, though those stereotypes exist for a reason.

There are three types of fall that I see; all of them usually occur in the same year, in this order:
    1) Warm-ish, with cool wind, and sunshine. Very, very colorful, but overall looks cheery. My favourite time of the year, really.
    2) Wet, cold. Quite a lot of drizzle. The grey type - skies are constantly fully overcast, and everything is wet.
    3) The "this used to be winter" type. At times wet, most commonly dry. Temperatures are low, but not all the way to zero. Grass looks weird. Trees look dead.

Well, we are still in summer and people already called that fall.
Well, this is the myth, because people are already calling that fall in mid august because the air is changing, it's getting a bit colder at night. But we are still in summer.

Trees are red, yellow and the air is starting to get cold, the most beautiful part of fall is when its start on September 23rd until maybe the second week of October, only if it doesn't rain or if we get alot of winds, the leaves are falling.
The color season is like for one week if there's no wind, and after that everything turns to grey, the weather is at freezing point, so you can expect cold rain. and snow in November.
Days are shorter, at 4:30pm it's starting to get dark, you need to put your winter tires.
Don't get fooled, fall is much more like 2 weeks, the rest of the season during November and December is pretty horrible

    Cold, rainy and windy.

This must be one of the shortest summers in a while already cold and shit.
Do you hear the voices too?

The bolded part is pretty much the only type of fall we get here. Everything is grey, everything is wet. It's mostly windy, very little sun and ~5-10C.

    It suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

So true, such a bad rap for no good reason. Autumn is wonderful in NJ, and to be honest Sept-Nov is one of my favorite times of year.

I see the appreciable side of Autumn in pictures and descriptions online, but very little of it can be felt in Finland. No culture of pumpkin lattes or the like, the time the trees are beautifully yellow/red is short af, the drop from summer's 20–23°C to less than 10°C is fast and sudden. Octoberfest is celebrated as a mere restaurant-hosted event if at all, there is no harvest festival at least in the cities. Halloween has risen to prominence here, but that's on the far side of October, meaning we've already endured almost two months of Autumn at that point, and it's pretty much the start of the final, worst part of Autumn in that the trees lose their leaves completely and everything is just dark and wet until we get snow in late December/January.

Finland has a warm(ish) period that lasts for about 4 months, 5 if it's a good year. Otherwise it's cold, dark and eventless, which is why summer is overfilled with festivals and stuff to do. It's like the nation comes to life on May. Autumn, in contrast, is just death of everything, starting the period of waiting for next year's summer.

At least there is Blizzcon to watch online.
Now you see it. Now you don't.

A lot of people only see the I-95 corridor going in between NYC and Newark International Airport, which consequently, is one of the ugliest (and smelliest) areas on NJ with all the refineries, cogeneration plants , etc...

I agree, Princeton (where I work and live) is nice AF in Autumn. Though in recent years, the warmth seems to really be lingering into October later and later..
