Power wise I guess it's similar since Nathanos is low tier while Sylvanas is the strongest enemy our characters have faced so far. But plotwise it's nowhere similar since Nathanos is just the standard guy that falls in love with his boss while Death was never the boss of Thanos. He just chose to go out of his way to please her.

He was just a fragment in Netherstorm, but still: compared to him and Sargeras, Sylvanas is nothing at all. Even Helia is far far stronger than her, and the powers behind here are stronger; but we didn't met them yet, so they don't count.

If anything, the relationship reminds me more of Jorah and Daenerys from Game of Thrones. He's devoted and in love, but also skilled and provides a valuable service. She loves him in a more familial way and appreciates what he does but the relationship will never be what he wants.

When he's a void lord, managing with a shard of it's power to destroy a whole planet? And if blizzard didn't retconned to badly in legion, making Sargeras a Vanir-titan hyperstrong; even trough the burning legion was never a match to the titans so powerful to solo the entire pantheon, then no. But even with the retconned thing: the Voidlords are probably more powerful than even Sargeras: when he didn't even fought against them, but against life themself, so that they can't get it. If he were so strong, why not bring the fight to them?

Yes, lorewise i think that the real Dimensius, not a shard of his power is far more powerful than Sargeras, the Old gods or anything else right now that we have met.
