You know a community is bad when moderators lock a thread because "...this isnt the place to talk about it either seeing as it will get trolled..."
They apparently encouraged him to say that phrase.

Granted, one person claiming it, but I imagine if it was a false claim other people who can speak Mandarin would be already jumping on it saying he's wrong.Clarification: the casters requested/encouraged Blitzchung to say what he said in Mandarin (in case you didn’t understand the clip). They said “Say the eight words, then we’ll end the interview immediately.” Then, they hid under the desk.
I have yet to see anything contradicting it either.
That's the most I want to be involved in this clown fiesta though.

No. They enforced the rules they created long before this situation. The same rules my last job had. I could not make political statements on official company time. It is also a bit hypocritical to complain about blizzard selling rainbow gear to support a group of people while saying they are bad doing something on behalf of a group of people. Who decides what groups are correct?
There is also a large difference between a countries politics and the support of LGBTQ. It is a nationally recognized thing in the United States. The pin was also sold as a charity fundraiser as an official company action. There is a difference between the Company doing something and the people they employ doing something.
Do you have proof of Blizzard only enforcing this rule for comments made about Chinese protestors?

Let see if I do this right... the level of fucken mental gymnastics on this post is amazing.
Thank you for making blizz argument for them. You wont give up your phone made in prc because you need it for work. Apparently they need that market to make sure their employees, and stock holders have a roof over their head. But yeah F*** the rich em i right?
I said Blizzard pretends its 'no politics'. You can't be apolitical and then shill for the Chinese government. Their political ideology is sold to the highest bidder, like I said, backed by their own actions.
And yes I did say they can do what they want WHILE you as a consumer does not have to put up with it by separating yourself from the company. That goes for Blizzard and any other entity that again, will sell out its audience to the highest bidders.
Your take on outrage culture is just odd. Taking up a contrary opinion is to partake in outrage culture? Long live outrage culture then.

Do you have proof that they did it only because of the Chinese market? Or do you think that they did it because it violates their rules? So are you saying I should be able to buy gold, buy character leveling, buy gear runs for real money if that money supports the Chinese protestors? Or should it lead to a ban like it would if it was in support of say Canadian individuals.

why? because the money the state makes off of this aids in it's maintenance.
to do business with ANY Chinese state-owned company isn't just to condone their human rights violations, it means you're willingly funding it.
frankly, i'd support a full-scale invasion of mainland china and a systematic dismantling of the PRC.
their hard-ware are literally clones of black-market US hardware from 7 years ago, their "latest" drone model was straight-up the one's Obama was sending out in Afghanistan.
their economy is so dependent on selling out cheap labor that if they were embargoed from the world market they would swiftly recess and inter a deflationary cycle, like many failed south american """socialist""" states have as they devalued their currency by printing more and more to pay for state operational expenses.
also, don't act like their ownership of debt matters in the slightest if war was declared, they're gonna have to learn alchemy pretty quick to get any gold out of that exchange.
furthermore, don't act like not being able to play a game is a punishment, it's entertainment, not water or food you dishonest shit.
unrelated, lol like a china state-owned news site is a reliable source for criticism of it's owner's critics, get outta here with that bias'ed dogshit.

Of course it is, similar to how the reddit page for Fortnite censors posts. Anytime a community page gets too big, it gets corrupted. In the case of this site, there isn't much censorship, but MMO-Champ mods rarely make posts about things Blizzard is doing wrong. My guess is they don't want to lose access to the company for interviews, inside looks, etc.
The only action they have of shilling to the Chinese government is the one being discussed. You have no proof that it is sold to the highest bidder. You keep making this about China when it has nothing to do with China by your own comments. Taking up a contrary opinion is not outrage culture. You are only seeing what you want to in order to suit the narrative you want.
Saying something is 100% fine for a company to do and then blasting a company that does what you just called 100% fine is outrage culture. The only reason why you are attacking them and expending so much effort to attack them is because it involved China. You only give a shit because it happened to some one speaking out against actions of the Chinese government.
Because as you said it is fine for a company to enforce no-politics rules. Unless of course PACOX says it is bad and then it is full steam ahead on the outrage engine.

I really enjoyed classic wow. And I just got to eastern plaguelands with my spriest. looks like im done with the last blizzard game ill play. I enjoyed their games since Lost vikings, but this is shit i cannot support. I'll let them know the only way i can, by not giving them any more money. I hope others follow suite, but understand if they dont, or just dont care.
Also this issue isn't very shocking. Pandering to the ever-growing Chinese consumer base is something corporations have been doing for years. Even Hollywood does it with films randomly detouring to China or featuring Chinese characters for no real reason other than appeal.
The NBA took a meek stand after Daryl Morey called out their government and is being systematically banned throughout the country. That is a huge loss of revenue for the NBA.
IMO better to go hardline and isolate China. Part of the reason they're so successful is because of the favorable deals they get due to their large consumer base.
While I understand this is a hot and controversial topic, the topic has obviously veered from Hearthstone itself and into political talk which isn't really well suited for this forum section. The Politics forum is a more appropriate section for that kind of discussion, and there's already a thread there discussing this too.
So here's the link, and I do hope any discussion can shift over there smoothly, but this has gotten a bit out of hand for the humble Hearthstone forum section, sorry all.
