It's a very small minority who thinks it some huge problem, because it's not, it's the same people who think everything is a damn conspiracy. He broke contract obligations, he suffered the consequences. You don't use Blizzard platforms for politics, no one watching Grandmasters wants to see that shit.

All of these forum threads talking about how evil/greedy Bobby Kotick is, instead of talking about the situation in HK.

Sign of the times, I guess. Gamer culture is truly shitty.
Well this thread has stayed open longer than I expected it to so I guess I'll wade into the muck just this once.

I expect the majority of this outrage is fake at best, hypocritical at worst. A bunch of gamers who haven't played WoW in years will uninstall and delete their account as a form of "thoughts and prayers" but when the next season of Overwatch League starts those same gamers will shell out money or a twitch badge and some fancy viewing options.

    OOOOH so scary.

    Maybe if it was credible.

Drawing attention to a problem that people are too ignorant and apathetic to want to hear about is kind of the whole point of protesting idiot. If someone has a large platform it should be used

Too bad Blizzard has had policy to action on that kind of stuff, I wonder, really. Would you be okay with Chinese player getting on stream and using it as a platform for advocating putting all muslims on concentration camps?

Pretty much. If they really cared about hk and China as much as they say. They wouldn't be going on about it on their Chinese made pc/laptop, while talking to people on their Chinese made phones, watching their Chinese made TV and using software part owned by Chinese companies.

I would bet good money that at least a few people will be doing the whole "Free HK" thing at Blizzcon.

It's not the place for it, people watch that type of thing to get away from real world BS that they're inundated with day in and day out.

And they'll probably get kicked out, wasting who knows how much in the process (ticket money, hotel money, etc etc), it's not the time, nor the place for it.

Yup, this Blizzcon is going to be crazy. And blizzard deserves whatever people decide to throw at them. No company should be supporting a country like China. Sadly, like others have said, people are going to forget. I pray they do not.

Is this supposed to be 'funny joke' or what?
How the fk is this guy/post still not banned and reported to law enforcement authorities for this?
    Hello?
    Mods are you there?

So... you've changed from 'shooting' to 'knifing' and suddenly it is ok?

Yes... because people mostly remember last Blizzcon for new heroes in Overwatch and HotS or new store mounts in WoW, right?
Literally nobody talks about Diablo drama... like nobody...

the amount of people i see on twitter and other websites claiming its illegal because blizzard is charging them by preventing them from deleting their accounts!
cause people cant tell the difference between deleting their account, and ending a sub, obvious people who have never played are hopping on the bandwagon...
(For info, their "delete your account" service was unavailbe for awhile)

I mean, that's completely different, that became a meme, no one really cares about Immortal itself anymore. Political BS is a dime a dozen, it's HK this week, it was Middle East the last week, Trump the week before, next week it'll be Japan or some shit.

Besides, we've got at least one big announcement this Blizzcon with the WoW expansion, possibly better Diablo announcements, maybe some big OW stuff. They're not going to make the same mistake as last year.

Death threat has been handled. Apologies that it took all of 53 minutes, but we cannot be present in every thread at once.

Can guarantee there'll be a no nonsense policy to bring up or instigate Blizzard in Blizzcon with regards to HK/China at the door, so people will be thrown out before anything is even seen on camera on the viewing service.

That being said, I expect at least one incident during the Q&A with the sound getting muted, and someone getting escorted out. Nothing more beyond that.
